About the opportunity
This isn't just about closing the books; it's about being the financial engine for our dynamic Mexico market. As the Accounting Lead, you'll own the entire accounting function, from meticulous monthly closes under US GAAP to ensuring full tax compliance.
You'll be the crucial link between our local business, our global headquarters, and our external financial partners. But you won't be siloed in finance. We’re looking for a leader who will partner directly with our sales and operations teams, providing the financial insights they need to succeed. You will also guide a team of three, championing best practices and constantly seeking ways to make our processes smarter. If you're ready to lead, collaborate, and make a tangible impact, this role is for you.
What will you do?
- Prepare and review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
- Perform monthly close activities under US GAAP working closely with external accounts
- Partner with external accountants to close statutory books
- Lead B/S reconciliation process, ensuring all accounts are tied out monthly to supporting documentation
- Manage intercompany reconciliations and support global consolidation efforts
- Coordinate with tax advisors to ensure compliance with SAT (ISR, IVA, DIOT, etc.)
- Support audits (internal and external) and SOX controls
- Review CFDIs to ensure alignment with accounting entries
- Lead in communicating with clients on rebate reconciliation and discounts
- Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial and operations teams
- Lead 2-3 Team Members
- HR Partner for payroll
What will you bring to the team?
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of experience in accounting roles in Mexico
- Experience in companies reporting under US GAAP and/or working with US-based headquarters
- Prior experience using Intelisis ERP strongly preferred
- Experience working with multinational companies or Big 4 is a plus
- Strong Excel skills and understanding of reconciliation best practices
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) required
- Willingness to improve processes
- You connect with our values:
- Relentless Customer Focus: You put customers at the heart of everything, building strong relationships, understanding customers needs, and making decisions that keep their perspective front and center.
- Act Today, Not Tomorrow: You make smart decisions quickly, prioritize action over perfection, and keep things moving forward, even when things aren’t 100% clear.
- Obsess About Outcomes: You’re outcome-driven, take ownership of your results, and work through challenges to deliver what really matters.
- Evolve Through Change: You’re adaptable, curious, and see change as a chance to learn and improve. You evolve your skills to keep up and push ahead.
- Human-driven, Powered by AI: While we use AI to drive performance, it’s our people who make the real difference. You bring empathy, collaboration, and a love of learning to everything you do.
