Your Role

As People & Performance Manager, your mission is to shape and support a world-class employee experience while helping Tanso scale its team in a structured and values-driven way. You own key processes in people operation and talent development - from onboarding to assessment and development - and contribute to strategic recruiting efforts when needed. A core focus of your work at Tanso will be on establishing a feedback and performance culture, designed to foster and develop the company’s talent. You create clarity, structure, and a sense of belonging across the employee lifecycle. 

As part of the Operations team, you work at the core of Tanso's growth journey: enabling teams to perform at their best while building a culture that people want to be part of. You are passionate about people, structured in your execution, and ready to take ownership of both the day-to-day and key improvement initiatives. Your work ensures that Tanso is not just a place to work, but a place to thrive. 

 

How You Succeed 

  • Own and continuously improve core HR processes (onboarding, offboarding, documentation, internal policies, etc.). 
  • Develop and implement targeted feedback and performance processes across the organization and tailored to specific needs. 
  • Introduce a performance based culture that doesn’t lose touch with the human element. 
  • Maintain and develop Tanso's HR system and ensure high-quality data and process integrity. 
  • Be the go-to person for all employees on People-related topics and ensure a supportive and structured employee experience. 
  • Collaborate with legal and payroll partners to ensure compliance with labor law and HR administration best practices. 
  • Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding (selected ownership). 
  • Support the execution of high-quality recruiting processes in collaboration with recruiters and hiring managers. 
  • Contribute to selected employer branding initiatives and support the development of a scalable talent pipeline. 
  • Participate in headcount planning and hiring roadmap alignment with leadership. 
  • Act as a thought partner to the leadership team and be a business-facing People leader. 
  • Gather employee feedback and translate insights into actions that improve engagement and performance.

Recruitment Process 

  1. Get to know Tanso with the People Team - learn more about us, ask your questions, and let’s explore together whether it’s a mutual fit.
  2. Role Introduction with the Head of Operations & Finance - understand your role and see whom you will be working with.
  3. Deep dive with the Head of Operations & Finance and one of our founders + get to know the team - get a feeling for the tasks ahead of you and meet your future colleagues. 

 

Hard Requirements 

  • Structured, organized, and solutions-focused 
  • 4-5 years of experience in relevant People / HR roles, ideally with prior leadership experience and ideally in startups, tech, or similar fast-paced environments 
  • Ownership mindset - you take initiative and follow through 
  • Empathetic and approachable - people trust you and feel safe turning to you 
  • Solid understanding of HR operations and basic German labor law 
  • Comfortable using and expanding HR tools and measuring performance based on KPIs 
  • Strong organizational and project management skills 
  • Fluent in German and English (C1 level or higher)
