Senior Java/Kotlin Developer

For one of the largest transport organizations in the Netherlands, we are looking for a Senior Java/Kotlin Developer. You will join the team to build and scale a custom solution that manages the financial and logistical handling of door-to-door services like OV-fiets (bike sharing), P+R parking, and luggage lockers.

🛠 What you’ll do

• Develop end-to-end: Engage in the full lifecycle from design and development to production maintenance.
• Build for the future: Create modular, reusable building blocks for the KOSMOS application to accelerate service delivery.
• Modernize the stack: Work within a complex IT environment using the latest technologies to make the platform future-proof for Mobility as a Service (MaaS).
• Collaborate in Agile teams: Partner with developers, designers, and Product Owners in a DevOps-driven culture.
• Ensure reliability: Share responsibility for platform lifecycle management and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation (approx. once every 8 weeks).
• Drive standards: Develop and document architectural guidelines to maintain high code quality.

✅ What we’re looking for

• Senior Experience: At least 6 years of professional experience as a Developer with a HBO level of thinking.
• Language Proficiency: Strong experience with Kotlin, Java, and Spring Boot.
• Cloud & Containers: Hands-on experience with Docker/Kubernetes and cloud platforms (Azure is a plus).
• API & Messaging: Expertise in REST APIs, Open API Specification (OAS/YAML), and messaging protocols like AMQP.
• DevOps Mindset: Experience with Git, CI/CD, and a "hands-on" mentality.
• Leadership: Ability to take the lead, coach the team, and drive a positive, result-oriented dynamic.
• Languages: Excellent command of both Dutch and English.
• NL residency (no sponsorship).

Tooling: Kotlin, Java, Spring Boot, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, AMQP, REST.

🌟 Nice to have

• Azure DevOps: Experience with pipelines and CI/CD automation.
• Security: Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, Microsoft AD, and secure connections (HTTPS/TLS).
• IaC & Monitoring: Experience with Terraform, Prometheus, or Grafana.
