Senior Data Engineer

For one of our large, highly regulated enterprise clients in the financial sector, we are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to support a Hybrid Cloud initiative focused on governance, compliance, and platform observability across public cloud environments. You’ll work at the intersection of data engineering and cloud platform engineering, ensuring that cloud usage across the organisation is safe, compliant, and transparent.

This is a mission-critical role in a mature cloud landscape, with high expectations around quality, reliability, and ownership.

What you’ll do

• Build and maintain pipelines that ingest metadata from Azure and GCP cloud platforms

• Enrich, transform, and structure cloud usage data to support dashboards covering compliance, policy adherence, FinOps, and operational metrics

• Work closely with platform and enablement teams to integrate data from multiple sources into a consistent and reliable model

• Apply everything-as-code principles using tools like Terraform and Ansible

• Improve and standardize cloud governance data flows, focusing on stability, security, and documentation

• Ensure smooth rollout and adoption of new data capabilities across engineering teams

• Support incident analysis and operational improvements across cloud data integrations

• Contribute to architectural decisions and help shape technical guidelines for cloud governance

• Collaborate in a high-performing Agile environment with strong ownership expectations

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer in cloud-centric environments

• Strong hands-on experience with Azure (ADX, Fabric, Function Apps, Event Grid)

• Familiarity with GCP is a strong plus

• Strong scripting and programming skills (Python, Java, Bash)

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation (Azure DevOps)

• Solid understanding of data ingestion, processing, validation, and reliability patterns

• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or similar automation tooling

• Able to navigate dynamic environments and stay up to date with emerging cloud technologies

• Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to problem-solving

• Comfortable working with cross-functional and cross-country teams

• Professional working proficiency in English

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field
