ABN - Kubernetes DevOps Engineer
Role Overview
We are seeking a Kubernetes DevOps Engineer to manage, secure, and optimize Kubernetes-based development and production environments. You’ll play a key role in maintaining cluster health, remediating vulnerabilities (CVEs), and improving CI/CD pipelines for reliable cloud-native workloads. This role suits an engineer who enjoys automation, operational excellence, and working closely with development teams to ensure seamless deployments.
Key Responsibilities

Maintain and upgrade Kubernetes clusters and associated infrastructure.

Monitor and resolve vulnerabilities (CVEs) in container base images and dependencies.

Rebuild and redeploy container images as part of regular platform maintenance.

Enhance and maintain CI/CD workflows for Kubernetes workloads (e.g., GitLab CI, ArgoCD, Jenkins).

Automate compliance and security checks across clusters and pipelines.

Collaborate with development teams to align platform updates with application lifecycle requirements.

Troubleshoot production workload issues, ensuring performance and reliability.

Maintain up-to-date runbooks and documentation for operational procedures.
Required Skills & Experience

3+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes administration and operations.

Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture, networking, and deployment strategies.

Experience with container image management (Docker, BuildKit, etc.).

Proficiency with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab CI, ArgoCD, Jenkins, Concourse).

Working knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Helm, Kustomize, Terraform).

Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana).

Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Go.

Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
Nice-to-Have Skills

Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) or Administrator (CKA).

Familiarity with Kubernetes security best practices (Pod Security, Network Policies).

Experience with service meshes (Istio, Linkerd).

Exposure to major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OpenStack).

Contributions to open-source or upstream Kubernetes projects.
