Infra / Networking Engineer

About the Role

ABN AMRO’s Data Analytics Reliability Engineering (DARE) team ensures that the Atlas platform, the backbone for data and analytics across the bank, remains reliable, scalable, and secure. We’re looking for a Data Analytics Reliability Engineer to design and improve core infrastructure services supporting AI and data workloads at enterprise scale.

You’ll join a small, expert engineering group responsible for the foundations of ABN AMRO’s data platforms, integrating tools like Databricks, AKS, Airflow, and Kafka into a cohesive, automated, and compliant environment.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and maintain highly available, scalable infrastructure for data and AI workloads on Azure.

• Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM/Bicep) for modular, automated deployments.

• Build and operate Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters and related cloud networking.

• Integrate observability, monitoring, and alerting to improve platform reliability.

• Implement guardrails for compliance, governance, and developer autonomy in Databricks.

• Support the migration from EventHub to Kafka/Confluent for event-driven architectures.

• Collaborate closely with other reliability and AI platform teams to ensure cohesive performance and security.

• Troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues across distributed systems at scale.

Your Profile

• 5+ years in cloud infrastructure or reliability engineering roles (preferably in regulated environments).

• Solid experience with Terraform, Azure, and Kubernetes (AKS).

• Familiar with Databricks, Airflow, Kafka, and related data platform technologies.

• Understanding of networking, access management, and security best practices in cloud.

• Strong background in automation and CI/CD (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).

• Hands-on troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose complex distributed system issues.

• Clear communicator and strong collaborator across teams.

• Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries is a plus.
