Job Title: UI/UX Designer – Flying Blue Website
Location: Hybrid (Amstelveen-based with remote collaboration)
Team: Flying Blue Design Squad
Contract Type: Full-time
About the Role
We are looking for a talented and pragmatic UI/UX Designer to join the Flying Blue Design Squad. You will be the sole designer focused on the FlyingBlue.com website (not the mobile app), playing a pivotal role in expanding and enhancing our digital loyalty experience, especially in light of our recent strategic partnership with SAS.
You’ll collaborate closely with a Product Owner based in Amstelveen, and support a distributed development team with members in France, India, and other international locations. While you’ll work independently within this team, you’ll also connect with the broader Air France-KLM design community, helping to align efforts across multiple airline brands.
This is an exciting opportunity to own the design process within a complex, multicultural, and agile environment, and contribute to the future of one of Europe’s leading loyalty programs.
Key Responsibilities
-
Translate business and user requirements into intuitive, accessible design concepts and user experiences
-
Design high-level wireframes and detailed UI mockups using Figma, adhering to the Air France-KLM Design System
-
Build interactive prototypes to support concept validation and stakeholder alignment
-
Deliver production-ready assets and documentation for development teams
-
Participate in Scrum ceremonies, manage your own workflow, and coordinate across multiple time zones
-
Work with a component-based design system shared by brands including Air France, KLM, and Flying Blue
-
Contribute to product strategy by considering brand and cultural differences in a shared platform
-
Collaborate with stakeholders via tools like Miro, Jira, and Confluence

Must-Have:
-
4 years of professional experience in UI/UX design
-
Proven experience working with design systems (mandatory), ideally with some code-based or CSS-level customization

-
Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills and confidence in cross-cultural collaboration
-
Comfortable navigating corporate environments and managing multiple stakeholders
-
Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe), and ability to work independently and flexibly
Preferred:
-
Experience with Angular-based design systems, particularly those aligned with Material Design
-
Background in aviation or loyalty programs is a plus
-
Experience working across distributed, multicultural teams
-
A team-player mindset – receptive to feedback and focused on collaboration over ego
