About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Golang Engineer to lead the design and development of a new API platform that supports Cassandra database provisioning and management in a cloud-native infrastructure. This is a greenfield project, giving you the opportunity to build a critical internal service from scratch, working alongside two internal engineers who will support you on implementation and maintenance.
You will be part of the Cloud Tribe – Data Services area, contributing to the delivery of infrastructure services for DevOps teams in a scalable, self-service, and secure manner. The goal is to abstract operational complexities and enable smooth, automated access to Cassandra as a Service (KaaS).
Key Responsibilities
-
Design, develop, and maintain a new API for Cassandra KaaS platform in Go.
-
Set up and manage Azure DevOps pipelines and CI/CD automation.
-
Lead and mentor junior engineers in the API squad.
-
Write clean, testable, and secure code with robust documentation.
-
Collaborate with platform teams and backend infrastructure squads.
-
Contribute to security compliance and technical documentation.
-
Monitor API usage and performance metrics to drive improvements.
Required Experience & Skills
-
3+ years of professional Golang engineering experience.
-
Strong knowledge of OpenShift 4 / Kubernetes / Helm.
-
Proficient with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Ansible.
-
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and API-first design.
-
Experience with Linux (RHEL 8/9) is a plus.
-
Sound understanding of security best practices (e.g., OWASP Top 10).
-
Background working in Agile/Scrum environments.
-
Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring abilities.
-
Ability to work independently and take initiative in a leadership role.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

Prior work in high-performance engineering teams building platform services.
-
Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
Project Highlights
-
Greenfield development of internal API to manage Cassandra services.
-
Focus on infrastructure automation and cloud-native architecture.
-
Close collaboration with internal platform teams.
-
High visibility and impact role with full ownership of API delivery.
Important Notes
-
Candidates must reside in the Netherlands.
-
Office presence required 1–2 times per week (Tuesdays preferred).
