Role Overview
As an Ops Engineer in the Global Master Control Room (GMCR), you serve as the Extra Pair of Eyes (24/7) for ING's IT landscape, ensuring service availability for both external customers and internal users. This position involves night shifts, late shifts, and weekend work, operating from ING’s Rotterdam office or remotely in a hybrid setup.
Key Responsibilities
🔧 Incident Management

Proactively monitor and respond to IT incidents.

Deliver First Time Fixes where possible.

Escalate to appropriate resolution teams with First Time Right approach.

Conduct post-incident analysis and update knowledge bases for future reference.
🖥️ Infrastructure Services

Operate, maintain, and test standardized and automated infrastructure services.

Focus on automation to eliminate repetitive and error-prone tasks.

Ensure infrastructure is resilient, high-quality, and up-to-date.
🔄 DevOps Practices

Implement user stories from backlog and actively engage in DevOps rituals (e.g., sprint planning, reviews).

Contribute to continuous improvement of services and ways of working.
🧠 Root Cause Analysis & Collaboration

Identify and resolve structural issues in systems and services.

Engage with cross-functional teams across global locations (Netherlands and Poland).
