We are currently looking for a Senior Python Engineer with a strong affinity for data science to help scale our in-house retail media platform across Ahold Delhaize Europe.

About AH-CTP – Adtech
Within our Customer Technology Platform (CTP)—responsible for all customer-facing digital products like the AH, Gall & Gall, and Etos apps and websites—resides the Adtech cluster. This team is building an advanced suite of advertisement technology to serve Albert Heijn and all other Ahold Delhaize brands.
We are developing systems to enable advertising by suppliers (e.g., Heineken, Unilever), agencies, and other partners through various communication channels, such as:

DOOH (Digital Out-of-Home, e.g., video content on in-store screens)

Display Banners (on websites and mobile apps)

In-Store Communication (e.g., stickers and wobblers)

Sponsored Products (ads based on keyword searches on our platforms)
About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and highly skilled Python Engineer to join the Advanced Reporting Team within the Adtech department. This team plays a pivotal role in delivering actionable insights across our retail media operations, enabling smarter decision-making and performance optimization.
Our advanced reporting solution will be rolled out across various online supermarkets under Ahold Delhaize Europe. You will be responsible for developing new features, maintaining and enhancing reporting capabilities, and enabling other teams to generate similar reports. You'll also contribute to automating performance advice for retail media campaigns using these insights.
You will be part of a highly professional and collaborative team, working alongside a Python Data Scientist and four Back-End Developers. Engineers are also responsible for their own QA.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement new features for the advanced reporting platform.

Manage the DevOps lifecycle of data science services, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.

Conduct analyses and deliver actionable insights through high-quality reports.

Enable other teams to leverage shared tools and frameworks.

Collaborate closely with team members to uphold quality standards through test automation and code reviews.

Monitor and optimize the performance and observability of our platform.

Contribute to continuous improvement by proactively identifying and implementing enhancements.
What You Bring

Solid experience in Python development with a focus on data science applications.

Proven DevOps expertise and understanding of managing scalable services.

Interest in recommender systems or relevance models (experience is a plus, but not required).

Previous experience in retail or retail media is a strong advantage.

Strong communication skills with a collaborative, team-first mindset.

Commitment to code quality, test automation, and the overall health of the platform.

Proactive attitude toward innovation and day-to-day improvements.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Location: Hybrid. One day per week at our HQ (mandatory, every Tuesday). A second day (preferably Thursday) is welcome.
