Network Automation Engineer – Wide Area Network (WAN)

Our squad is responsible for delivering high-quality, secure, and automated physical and logical network services that support:

End users

ING customers
-
Workplace solutions
-
Business operations across branch offices, head offices, and third-party locations
We also manage DWDM network connectivity between ING’s data centers.
What You'll Do

Translate business needs into technical network solutions, including design and activity planning

Maintain a standardized, resilient, high-quality, and automated network infrastructure
-
Ensure services align with ING’s internal policies and security standards
-
Monitor, analyze, and enhance the performance, availability, and quality of network services
-
Take ownership of incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement
-
Administer and maintain network assets and infrastructure
-
Prepare, test, and implement network changes
-
Automate routine operations and maintenance tasks wherever possible
-
Collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure high service quality
Your Profile
You have 2–5 years of experience in implementing, configuring, and maintaining network infrastructure. You're detail-oriented, technically skilled, and confident in evaluating and challenging network designs with a focus on security and implementation.
You’re proactive, solutions-focused, and communicate clearly in English.
Required Skills

Practical experience with Firewall products
-
Strong knowledge of LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and Data Center networking

Expertise in routing and switching protocols in high-availability environments

Scripting skills (preferably Python)

Familiarity with orchestration and automation tools such as:

Terraform
-
Ansible
-
Azure DevOps (Git, Pipelines)

Understanding of Agile/Scrum practices (e.g., sprint planning, backlog grooming, reviews)

Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related technical field
