Position Title: Senior Associate-Sustainability & Systems Change

Location: United States (New York preferred, may consider remote)

Salary range: $90 000 – $130 000 base, plus bonus & benefits.( Note: this range reflects national market data & your exact offer will reflect your experience, skills, credentials and work location. Starting at, or near the top of this range is unusual and reserved for candidates with exceptional, directly relevant expertise)

Who You’ll Work With
You will be part of Systemiq’s expanding U.S. team, joining a mission-driven group focused on driving system change to tackle the world’s most pressing sustainability challenges. We work across sectors such as energy, circular economy, sustainable finance, and food systems, collaborating with business leaders, policymakers, NGOs, and civil society to co-create impactful, scalable solutions.

Systemiq is a certified B Corp exclusively focusing on sustainability. We combine strategic advisory with hands on implementation to deliver transformative impact across key systems: energy, nature and food, materials and circularity, urban transitions, and sustainable finance.

Your Impact
As a Senior Strategy Associate, you will lead analytical workstreams and help shape sustainability strategies that are both evidence-based and visionary. You’ll be expected to move fluidly between quantitative modeling and qualitative storytelling — connecting data, insight, and narrative into actionable recommendations.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead workstreams that require strong analytical rigor and strategic synthesis
  • Design and implement data-driven analyses (e.g., market sizing, emissions impact, financial modeling) and extract actionable insights
  • Conduct interviews and research to bring qualitative context to findings
  • Prepare materials (slides, briefs, tools) that blend storytelling with data
  • Collaborate with teammates across regions and disciplines
  • Provide informal coaching and quality control for junior colleagues’ output

What You’ll Bring

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., sustainability, economics, business, engineering, policy)
  •  Experience: 3–5 years in consulting, strategy, or sustainability with demonstrated ability to manage analytical workstreams
  • Analytical Strength: Fluency in both quantitative analysis (Excel, modelling, data interpretation) and qualitative synthesis (stakeholder insights, narrative structuring)
  • Communication: Ability to clearly synthesize and communicate complex findings in a compelling, structured way
  • Mindset: Purpose-driven, entrepreneurial, and collaborative — someone who thrives on solving complex problems with rigor and empathy
  • Language: Business-level or native fluency in English

What to Expect
Systemiq offers a collaborative, purpose-driven environment where personal and professional growth is a priority. As part of our U.S. expansion, you will play a foundational role in shaping our impact across North America. We’re committed to diversity, inclusion, and supporting sustainable ways of working.

Other Information
Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available at this time. This role may involve travel for client engagements and team collaboration

  • Embedding diverse and inclusive practices in all aspects of our work, including recruitment, performance management, and people processes and policies.
  • Providing a supportive environment where everyone can be themselves and perform at their best, regardless of background, personality, gender, sexual orientation, race, mental health, religion, or other characteristics.
  • Supporting our people through all life stages, accommodating personal priorities, and promoting a sustainable approach to work and life.

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
