As a Strategy Associate/Senior Associate, you will play a crucial role in various key projects within the Nature-Food platform. You will collaborate in project teams and manage complex multi-stakeholder relationships across the private sector, governments, NGOs, and industry bodies. You will contribute to workstreams that draw on expertise from both within the organization and external partners, and you will have opportunities to introduce and lead your own workstreams within the Natural Solutions space. We seek someone with experience across a range of sectors and the ability to handle fast-paced corporate advisory projects as well as longer-term coalition efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Co-create approaches with partners/clients to balance economic viability, ecosystem regeneration, and social inclusion.
  • Gather and analyze data to provide insights based on agreed questions.
  • Develop and maintain long-lasting collaborative relationships with project partners and stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic insights and practical solutions for successful transformations.
  • Support partners in monitoring, evaluating, and communicating their business models, visions, and impacts.
  • Mentor junior team members, contributing to a collaborative and inclusive team culture.

Requirements:

Mindset, Skills & Experience:

Ideal candidates will bring:

  • Education: Master’s degree or equivalent in environmental science, agriculture, economics, or related fields.
  • Experience: 3+ years in consulting, strategy, project management, or sustainability-focused roles, with experience in complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Knowledge Areas: Deep understanding of sustainability topics, particularly in agriculture, land use, biodiversity, or regenerative food systems.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Proficiency in synthesizing complex data into actionable insights.
    • Strong communication and presentation abilities.
    • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments.

Specifically, candidates must have:

  • A Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as sustainability, agriculture, environmental science, or economics.
  • 3+ years of experience in advisory/consulting, sustainability strategy, or other relevant project-based roles, with a preference for international experience.
  • Familiarity with key concepts and value chains in agriculture, food systems, land use, or biodiversity.
  • Evidence of delivering impactful solutions in multi-stakeholder, complex projects.
  • A strong record of professional excellence and/or academic achievement.
  • A passion for SYSTEMIQ’s mission and approach to system change.
