People Operations Specialist

London

Welcome to the video-first world

From your everyday PowerPoint presentations to Hollywood movies, AI will transform the way we create and consume content. Today, people want to watch and listen, not read — both at home and at work. If you’re reading this and nodding, check out our brand video.

Despite the clear preference for video, communication and knowledge sharing in the business environment are still dominated by text, largely because high-quality video production remains complex and challenging to scale—until now…

Meet Synthesia

We're on a mission to make video easy for everyone. Born in an AI lab, our AI video communications platform simplifies the entire video production process, making it easy for everyone, regardless of skill level, to create, collaborate, and share high-quality videos. Whether it's for delivering essential training to employees and customers or marketing products and services, Synthesia enables large organizations to communicate and share knowledge through video quickly and efficiently. We’re trusted by leading brands such as Heineken, Zoom, Xerox, McDonald’s, and more. Read stories from happy customers and what 1,200+ people say on G2.

In 2023, we were one of 7 European companies to reach unicorn status. In February 2024, G2 named us as the fastest growing company in the world. In 2025 we announced our series D funding. In total we’ve raised over $330M in funding from top-tier investors, including NEA, Atlassian Ventures, WiL, PSP Growth, and existing investors such as Accel, Nvidia, Kleiner Perkins, GV and top founders and operators including Stripe, Datadog, Miro, Webflow, and Facebook.

The Role

We looking for a People Operations Specialist to join our PeopleOps team, to support our global growth. You'll partner closely with our Talent, Security, and IT teams and our external partners and EORs, to ensure new joiners are set up for success, keep our People systems running smoothly, and drive operational excellence across every touchpoint of an employee’s journey.

This is a hands-on, varied role for someone who loves ownership, thrives in the details, and brings a global mindset. We’re looking for someone who’s had exposure working with EORs, genuinely passionate about People Ops and someone who brings a systems-thinking mindset to how we support and scale our employee experience. If you naturally seek out better ways of doing things, question how things have always been done and like being close to the detail, you’ll thrive here.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Own and execute key lifecycle processes from pre-onboarding to offboarding, whilst always looking for ways to iterate and improve our workflows
  • Collaborate with our Talent Team for a smooth candidate to employee handover and assist with any contractual or right to work questions and manage all pre-onboarding actions
  • Work alongside our Workplace team to continuously iterate on our onboarding programme to make it more engaging, inclusive, and reflective of Synthesia’s culture.
  • Maintain our HRIS (HiBob) as the single source of truth - keep it tidy, up-to-date, and fully leveraged
  • Work closely with the People Ops Lead to review and leverage data reporting
  • Lead and evolve our global mobility process - from visa sponsorships, relocations to onboarding through our EOR partners.
  • Manage global leave processes from time off to parental leave, ensuring a supportive and compliant experience for employees and managers
  • Partner with finance to ensure payroll is accurate
  • Drive process improvements and automations, from reviewing existing processes to embedding AI in people operations
  • Own and deliver a range of People team projects including policy revamp, new system implementation and creating playbooks

Some key projects in 2026:

In 2025, the team’s focus was on laying the foundations to support our growth. In 2026, we’ll continue building our People Ops function, with a strong focus on self-service, exceptional processes, and operational excellence that scales with the business. Outside of the business as usual aspect of this role, below are some examples of key PeopleOps projects that this role will lead or support on, in 2026.

  • Global Mobility - We’ll rethink and rebuild how relocations work at Synthesia. This means rewriting our global mobility policy, tearing down and rebuilding our processes to remove risk and gaps, work with our immigration partners to implement a scalable visa sponsorship guide and process, and creating clear Notion guides so employees and managers always know what’s going on.
  • Global Leave Management - We’ll rethink and rebuild how leave works at Synthesia as we continue to scale globally. This means reviewing and updating country-specific leave types (like parental, annual, and statutory leave), rebuilding time off policies to ensure local compliance, and updating how leave is set up and managed in HiBob so policy, process, and system actually line up.
  • SOP Building - We’ll rethink and rebuild how People Ops work actually gets done at Synthesia. This means breaking down key People processes, documenting clear and scalable SOPs, defining ownership and handoffs, and working cross-functionally with IT to fully leverage tools that are already configured to work perfectly.
  • Leveraging our Data - We’ll rethink how we capture and use People data at Synthesia so anything we input or hold is reportable and reliable. This means auditing our current data, identifying gaps in how information is entered and maintained, and ensuring that in 2026, People Ops decisions are consistently led by accurate, trusted data.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2–4 years’ experience in People Operations, Global Mobility, or a similar HR role - ideally within tech. You don’t have to have had a specific Global Mobility role previously but exposure to global processes is a must.
  • Experience working with international teams (especially across EMEA) and familiarity with EOR providers. (ideally Oyster)
  • Solid understanding of visa sponsorship, relocation, and global compliance processes.
  • A true owner: someone who enjoys identifying areas for improvement and project-managing solutions to completion.
  • Tech-savvy: confident using tools like HiBob, Notion, Ashby & G-suite and excited by automation and AI-powered workflows.
  • Detail-oriented, structured, and proactive: you take ownership and make processes better.
  • Comfortable working independently and flexing across a wide range of topics.
  • Empathetic communicator with cultural awareness and strong written and verbal clarity.

Please note that this is a hybrid position of at least 2-3 days/week in our London office.
