About the role

As part of our strategic growth initiative, we are establishing a new, dedicated team to launch a suite of high-value, actionable insight products focused on Fraud and Anti-Money Laundering (AML). This is a critical leadership role that will define the product strategy, content, and direction for this new line of business, driving the successful and timely launch of our first products before the start of summer. You will replace the initial strategic lead and report to the CPO. This role demands a super-specialist in Fraud and AML, acting as a deep domain expert, a visionary product leader, and a strategic partner to our potential banking clients. What else is expected:

Strategic Leadership & Vision

• Define Product Direction: Own and evolve the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the new Fraud and AML insights suite, ensuring alignment with our core product (VOP) and overall company strategy.
• Domain Expertise: Act as the internal and external Fraud and AML subject matter expert, leveraging deep industry experience to define valuable and cutting-edge products.
• Commercial Translation: Determine the commercial possibilities within fraud detection and AML, translating market opportunities and regulatory requirements into a viable, working product model.
• Client Sparring Partner: Engage with management, legal, compliance, and expert teams at potential banking clients to validate concepts, gather requirements, and ensure the delivered product provides maximum value.

Product Development & Team Leadership

• Content & Model Authority: Lead the team on the content perspective, model building, and utilization of AI/ML within our decision engine.
• Data Strategy: Determine the specific data points required (both existing and new) to create highly accurate risk scoring models as input for the new products.
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the dedicated cross-functional team, which includes a Product Manager, Project Manager,  Machine Learning Expert Data Scientist, Technical BA and a Product Owner, alongside dedicated IT development resources.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work in close collaboration with Product Management (core VOP), Business Development (BD), and IT Development to ensure product usability, feasibility, and successful market adoption.

About you

This is a role for an innovative fraud expert. We are looking for a pragmatic and results oriented leader who enjoys a fast-paced, high-growth environment where product definitions and market feedback may necessitate rapid adjustments. Furthermore:

Domain Expertise & Experience

• Super-Specialist Background: Proven experience as a super-specialist in anything Fraud/AML related, having previously worked at large financial institutions.
• Fraud Detection at Scale: Solid background in fraud detection on the banking side, with experience in rule-writing and model building.
• Commercial/Product Acumen: Additional experience as a consultant or in a commercial/product management/leadership role is highly desirable.
• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge and understanding of upcoming laws and regulations impacting detection, such as the AMLR, PSD3, and PSR.
• Model Building Experience: Direct experience creating new fraud detection models and the ability to understand which data points are required for various Modus Operandi (MOs)/Fraud Patterns/Typologies, down to the level of individual data points.
• AI/ML Application: Demonstrated experience in leveraging AI and Machine Learning in the creation of fraud/AML decisioning models.

Business & Technical Acumen

• Fraud/AML Business Acumen: Deep understanding of how fraud detection systems fit within the overall architecture and processes of large banks, including the commercial and risk-management utilization of the resulting data.
• Banking Goals & Structure: Ability to act as a full-fledged conversation partner to bank management, understanding their goals, structures, and risk appetite.
