Our Technology

We use the latest tools and technologies to deliver an outstanding, seamless and customer centric digital experience to our customers.  We predominantly write our software using TypeScript, leveraging libraries such as nest.js and React and deploy on immutable infrastructure AWS cloud services and Kubernetes.  We believe strongly in Infrastructure as Code via Terraform. Our system is event-based and distributed built on top of Amazon EventBridge and SQS.  In addition, our services use REST APIs and GraphQL.

We are driven by data science, machine learning and analytics, from multi-variant testing, allowing us to personalise the user experience; every customer will have a unique and tailored experience just for them, across every digital channel.

What you will be doing

  • Initially you can expect to play a leading role in the design and evolution of our B2B API, and as we evolve you will work on the other parts of our payments infrastructure

  • Play an active role in our code review process, reviewing code from across the team as well as making it easy for others to review the code you write.

  • Contribute to discovery, ideation and research alongside designers and other engineers to identify, prioritise and solve problems iteratively.

  • Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives via guilds and ADR processes.

  • Gain an understanding of our business, our customers, and our domain, and use your judgement to make autonomous decisions.

  • Mentoring and growing our engineering community by supporting the professional development of others by sharing your knowledge, experience - be it through pairing, talks or external speaking opportunities.

Requirements

We'd love it if you have:

  • A delivery focussed mindset and make use of agile software development practices to ensure your team’s success. We value collaboration, repeatability and continuous improvement.

  • Professional experience with several different languages so that you can bring a diverse mindset to the technical problems we face. 

  • An interest in working with our tech stack, even the bits you don’t know and are excited to learn.

  • Been responsible for the design and provisioning of cloud based infrastructure that your applications run upon. Bonus points if this was Infrastructure as Code.

  • Knowledge of application development, continuous delivery, test automation. and secure software development within a distributed-service environment. 

  • Worked on, and supported a publicly accessible REST API.

  • A proven track record of implementing significant improvements in quality, performance, stability and scalability to code they work on

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, constantly changing startup environment.

  • Capable of working independently, there will be significant ambiguous problems that you will be responsible for exploring and providing solutions for
