About the Role

It is an exciting time to join Napoleon Sports as we continue to lead the way in the Belgian entertainment and gaming market. As our business grows, we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior GL Accountant to join our finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, modern environment.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy-Taxation, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience: 0–2 years of professional experience in accounting; internship experience is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with office tools (e.g., Google Workspace and MS Office), including knowledge of pivot tables. Experience with Business Central is a plus.
  • Languages: Advanced proficiency in English; knowledge of Dutch is highly preferred for the Belgian market.
  • Soft Skills: A proactive team player with a collaborative spirit and a strong desire to learn.
  • Mindset: Excellent organizational skills and a systematic approach to problem-solving. You possess a strong sense of responsibility with respect for deadlines and the ability to deliver on time.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Junior GL Accountant, you will support the finance team in daily operations and work toward managing accounting cycles independently:

  • General Ledger Support: Assist in the maintenance and control of the general ledger under the guidance of senior colleagues.
  • Month-End Closing: Assist in preparing month-end closing tasks to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Reconciliations: Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Financial Records: Help calculate and record basic depreciation and accruals.
  • Regulatory Reporting: Support the preparation of reports for regulatory bodies and internal management.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on Belgian accounting laws (BE-GAAP) and tax regulations.
  • Ad-hoc Tasks: Assist with various operational tasks within the accounting and finance department as needed.
