BI Analyst/ Internal Audit Data Specialist

Super is seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Internal Audit Data Specialist to bridge the gap between traditional auditing and advanced data analytics. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining data-driven audit strategies. You will work closely with internal auditors to identify risk areas, automate audit testing, and build continuous monitoring dashboards that provide actionable insights to leadership.

 

What you'll be doing:

  • Data extraction and preparation: Extract, clean, and analyze large datasets from various systems (e.g., D365) and BI platforms (e.g.: Tableau) to support audit planning and fieldwork.
  • Audit analytics and automation: Design and execute automated audit tests using data analytics tools to identify anomalies, control breakdowns, and potential fraud.
  • Continuous monitoring: Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations to enable continuous auditing and risk monitoring across business units.
  • Collaboration and translation: Liaise with stakeholders on the progress on action items and act as a liaison between the IT/Data teams and the Internal Audit team. Translate complex data findings into clear and simple, business-focused audit reports and recommendations.
  • Process improvement: Identify opportunities to improve existing audit processes, reducing manual testing efforts and increasing audit coverage through data-driven methodologies.
  • Data governance: Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of data used throughout the audit lifecycle.

 

What we are looking for:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Data Science, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5 years of experience in data analytics, internal audit, IT audit, or a related function.
  • Technical Skills:
    • High proficiency in data querying and manipulation languages (e.g., SQL, Python, or R).
    • Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik).
    • Familiarity with audit-specific analytics software (e.g., Alteryx, ACL/Galvanize, IDEA).
  • Soft Skills: Strong critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with advanced analytics, machine learning concepts, or process mining tools (e.g., Celonis).
  • Professional certifications such as CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or data-specific certifications.
  • Understanding of standard business processes (e.g., Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Payroll) and associated internal controls.
