Staff Data Engineer

What You’ll Do
- Build Analytics-Ready Data Assets
- Design and maintain structured, documented datasets in platforms like Snowflake so teams across the business can self-serve insights and make smarter decisions.
- Collaborate Across Functions
- Partner with software engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust, scalable data models.
- Own the Semantic Layer
- Use dimensional modeling and modern data architecture principles to simplify access to data and support BI tools, reporting, dashboards but most importantly support data products.
- Develop and Maintain ELT Pipelines
- Leverage tools like Airflow, and others to orchestrate reliable data transformations—ensuring data is fresh, reliable, and production-grade.
- Enable Data Democratization
- Make data accessible to everyone, regardless of their technical skills. Your work will empower product, ops, marketing, and leadership to explore data confidently and independently.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong SQL and data modeling experience (Kimball, Inmon, or similar)
- Experience with orchestration tools like Airflow or Dagster
- Proficiency with analytical databases (Snowflake, BigQuery, etc.)
- Experience with modern ELT tools
- Familiarity with version control and CI/CD in a data context
- Ability to translate business needs into clean, maintainable data sets
- Strong communication skills—can explain data to humans and code to computers
- Comfortable working with stakeholders who aren’t technical like Product Managers, Business Experts, etc
