Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Buyer to join our procurement team. This pivotal role will be instrumental in shaping and executing our procurement strategies at a group level, directly impacting our ability to achieve optimal value and efficiency across the organization. The Senior Buyer will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement process, from developing comprehensive strategies and managing key supplier relationships to leading complex negotiations and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned procurement professional to leverage their expertise and contribute to the strategic direction of our procurement function. The individual will play a crucial part in ensuring a cost-effective and resilient supply chain that supports our overall business objectives. 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Strategic Procurement & Planning:
    The Senior Buyer will be at the forefront of developing, implementing, and managing group-level procurement strategies that are tightly aligned with the overarching business goals and objectives . This involves a comprehensive understanding of the company's strategic direction and how procurement can best support it through optimized sourcing and purchasing practices. A critical aspect of this responsibility includes conducting thorough market analysis to identify emerging trends, assess supplier capabilities, and pinpoint opportunities for cost optimization and enhanced efficiency . By staying informed of  Betting & Gaming best practices and innovative procurement methodologies, the Senior Buyer will ensure that our strategies remain competitive and effective in a dynamic market environment . This proactive approach to strategic planning will enable the organization to anticipate market shifts, mitigate potential risks, and secure a sustainable competitive advantage through its procurement activities. 
  • Supplier Relationship Management:
    A key component of this role involves the strategic management of our supplier base at a group level. The Senior Buyer will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and selecting key suppliers who can meet our quality, cost, and delivery requirements consistently . Building strong, collaborative relationships with these strategic partners is essential, fostering open communication and mutual understanding of goals and expectations . This includes establishing clear performance metrics, regularly monitoring supplier performance against these metrics, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance value and mitigate potential risks within the supply chain . By nurturing these relationships, the Senior Buyer will ensure a reliable and high-performing supply base that contributes to the overall success of the organization.  
  • Negotiation & Contracting:
    The Senior Buyer will take the lead in conducting complex negotiations with suppliers to secure the most favorable terms, conditions, and pricing for goods and services . This requires a deep understanding of negotiation strategies and tactics, coupled with strong analytical skills to evaluate proposals and identify opportunities for savings. Furthermore, the role encompasses the responsibility for drafting, reviewing, and managing various types of procurement contracts, ensuring they are legally sound and aligned with the company's best interests . This meticulous approach to negotiation and contract management will be crucial in establishing clear agreements with suppliers and safeguarding the organization's commercial interests.  
  • Cost Management & Value Creation:
    Driving cost savings initiatives across the group is a fundamental responsibility of the Senior Buyer . This involves identifying and implementing opportunities for efficiency gains, negotiating price reductions, and exploring alternative sourcing options. The Senior Buyer will also be tasked with identifying and implementing value engineering opportunities, aiming to improve the functionality and quality of procured goods and services while optimizing costs . Ensuring optimal total cost of ownership (TCO) for procured items will be a key focus, considering not only the initial purchase price but also the long-term costs associated with maintenance, operation, and disposal . These efforts will directly contribute to the financial performance and overall value creation for the organization.  
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Effective collaboration with various internal stakeholders is paramount for the success of this role. The Senior Buyer will work closely with teams across Finance, Operations, Legal, and other relevant departments to gain a thorough understanding of their procurement needs and ensure that procurement strategies are aligned with these requirements and overall business objectives . This collaborative approach will foster strong working relationships, facilitate the smooth execution of procurement processes, and ensure that the needs of all stakeholders are effectively met. By acting as a key point of contact and a trusted advisor, the Senior Buyer will contribute to a cohesive and integrated approach to procurement across the organization.  
  • Risk Management & Compliance:
    Identifying and mitigating potential risks within the supply chain is a critical responsibility for the Senior Buyer . This includes assessing potential disruptions, evaluating supplier financial stability, and developing contingency plans to ensure business continuity. Furthermore, the Senior Buyer will be responsible for ensuring that all procurement activities adhere to company policies, procedures, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements . This commitment to risk management and compliance will safeguard the organization from potential operational and reputational risks.  
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
    Tracking key procurement metrics (KPIs) is essential for evaluating the effectiveness of procurement strategies and identifying areas for improvement. The Senior Buyer will be responsible for monitoring these metrics, analyzing performance data to identify trends and insights, and providing regular reports to management on the progress and impact of procurement initiatives. This data-driven approach will ensure accountability and enable informed decision-making regarding procurement strategies and resource allocation.  
  • Process Improvement:
    Continuously evaluating and improving procurement processes is a key aspect of this role. The Senior Buyer will be expected to identify inefficiencies, streamline workflows, and implement best practices to enhance overall procurement effectiveness and efficiency. This proactive approach to process improvement will contribute to a more agile and responsive procurement function.  
  • Mentorship & Leadership (Optional):
    Depending on the organizational structure and team needs, the Senior Buyer may also have the opportunity to mentor and provide guidance to junior buyers within the team, fostering their professional development and contributing to the overall growth of the procurement function.  

What We’re Looking For

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field is required. A Master's degree in a relevant discipline is considered a plus.  
  • Experience: The ideal candidate will possess more than 5 years of progressive experience in procurement roles, with a demonstrable track record of developing and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives and group-level procurement strategies. Specific experience in areas such as Project Procurement or Commodity Management is highly advantageous.

    • Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to formulate and execute long-term procurement strategies that align with overarching business objectives.  
    • Negotiation Skills: Exceptional ability to lead and successfully conclude complex negotiations with suppliers, securing favorable terms and pricing.  
    • Market Analysis: Comprehensive understanding of market dynamics, supplier landscapes, and pricing trends, with the ability to analyze and interpret relevant data.  
    • Supplier Relationship Management: Proven expertise in building, nurturing, and maintaining effective and collaborative partnerships with key suppliers.  
    • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal abilities to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.  
    • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical capabilities to interpret complex data, identify key trends, and make well-informed procurement decisions, along with effective problem-solving abilities.  
    • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated experience with relevant procurement software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, such as SAP, Ariba, or Coupa, as well as proficiency in data analysis tools.  
    • Project Management Skills: Proven ability to effectively manage multiple procurement projects and priorities, ensuring timely completion and alignment with strategic goals.  
    • Language Skills: Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential.
