What impact you will have:
Submer Group is seeking a hands-on Finance Director to serve as the financial leader for a rapidly growing business focused on modular data center infrastructure, design-build services, and mission-critical construction projects.
This is not a traditional corporate finance role. We are looking for a builder—someone who can establish financial processes, develop sophisticated financial models, support commercial decision-making, and create the financial foundation for a business experiencing significant growth.
The successful candidate will partner closely with business leadership, operations, project delivery, engineering, procurement, and corporate finance teams to drive financial performance, improve visibility, support investment decisions, and build scalable financial infrastructure.
The ideal candidate combines strong FP&A capabilities, excellent financial modeling skills, operational finance experience, and a solid accounting foundation. They must be comfortable moving between strategic analysis and hands-on execution in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
- Develop and maintain financial models supporting revenue growth, profitability, capital requirements, and project performance.
- Establish financial reporting packages, dashboards, and KPIs for leadership review.
- Analyze financial performance against budget and forecast and identify key drivers of variance.
- Develop scenario analysis and sensitivity modeling to support strategic decision-making.
- Support business planning for new markets, manufacturing facilities, and project opportunities.
Project & Operational Finance
- Build financial frameworks for managing large-scale modular infrastructure projects.
- Monitor project profitability, margins, cash flow, and working capital performance.
- Partner with project delivery teams to track project budgets, cost forecasts, and commercial risks.
- Develop project-level reporting and forecasting capabilities.
- Support contract reviews and commercial decision-making.
- Establish processes for monitoring backlog, pipeline conversion, and project execution performance.

- Ensure appropriate financial controls and governance processes are established as the business scales.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial processes.
- Improve financial visibility, reporting accuracy, and forecasting reliability.
- Assist with audit, tax, and compliance requirements as needed.
Process Improvement & Business Building
- Build scalable finance processes and operating rhythms to support rapid growth.
- Develop tools, templates, and reporting structures that improve decision-making.
- Establish financial discipline without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
- Drive continuous improvement across planning, forecasting, reporting, and performance management.
- Support implementation and optimization of ERP, project management, and reporting systems.
