Vice President, Compliance

About the Role
Vice President, Compliance is a senior leadership role within the organisation, that is responsible for ensuring that StraitsX operates within legal, regulatory and ethical boundaries. This position is critical in managing the mitigating risks relating to compliance, ensuring that business practices align with regulations and internal policies and protecting StraitsX from legal or reputational harm.
What You'll Be Doing
Regulatory Oversight:
- Monitor and analyse regulations affecting stablecoins, digital assets, including AML, KYC and other relevant compliance frameworks;
- Ensure adherence to Singapore regulatory requirements relating to digital assets, SCS, and payment services.
Compliance Programme Development:
- Design and implement comprehensive compliance frameworks for digital asset, payments and stablecoins operations;
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures to address risk associated with digital asset, stablecoins and payment transactions;
Transaction Monitoring and Reporting:
- Oversee transaction monitoring for digital assets, payments and stablecoins activities to detect and report suspicious activities;
- Prepare compliance reports for Senior Management and regulatory authorities, highlighting key risks and compliance activities.
Stakeholder management:
- Collaborate with legal, technology, operational, treasury, product, and fraud teams to integrate compliance considerations into product and service offerings;
- Engage with regulators, auditors, and industry stakeholders to align with best practices and regulatory expectations.
- Act as primary liaison between the organisation and regulatory bodies, ensuring clear communication and fostering positive relationships.
- Participate in industry forums, working groups, and conferences to advocate for the organisation’s interests.
Regulatory Advisory:
- Provide strategic advice to Senior Management and various departments on regulatory compliance and risk management
- Develop and present reports and recommendations regarding regulatory changes and their potential impact on business operations.
Training and Awareness:
- Develop training materials and conduct sessions to enhance understanding of regulatory obligations among employees
- Promote a culture of compliance throughout the organization by raising awareness of regulatory issues.
Incident Response:
- Provide guidance during regulatory inquiries, audits, or investigations, ensuring timely and effective responses.
- Assist in management of compliance breaches or issues, advising on corrective actions and reporting requirements.
Team Leadership:
- Inspire, mentor, and develop a high-performing compliance team, promoting collaboration and accountability.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the compliance team, promoting a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Incident Response:
- Provide guidance during regulatory inquiries, audits, or investigations, ensuring timely and effective responses.

What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree or above in Law, Finance, Business, Accounting or related field.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in relevant compliance fields, AML experience from crypto, fintech, payment companies or financial institutions.
- IBF Level 2 - ACAMS or International Compliance Association (ICA) certification preferred.
- Understanding of Payment Services Act, and other regulations affecting payments, fintech, digital assets, stablecoins and similar regulations;
- Excellent communication skills to communicate and collaborate effectively with business partners and relevant stakeholders.

- Self driven individual with high standard of integrity and work ethics.
