Digital Payments Sales Director

About the Role

This is a senior sales role spearheading client acquisition and growth for StraitsX's pioneering digital payment solutions. You are a member of the Payments team and will be responsible for driving sales, building strong relationships with stakeholders, and crafting data-driven strategies to propel StraitsX's position within the dynamic digital asset and blockchain payments landscape. There will also be management duties as you will be overseeing a team as well as planning for expansion.

You will work closely with the Head of Commercial and internal teams from Product, Operations, Compliance and Legal to craft, design and execute winning solutions to fit the needs of our Enterprise clients.

What You'll Do:

  • Leadership
    • Plan and drive the overall growth of our business, and be responsible for the full business development end to end cycle.
    • Lead, empower, and mentor your team to bring about growth and development for the business unit.
    • Build, lead and execute strategic plans and initiatives to ensure that StraitsX is aligned with industry trends, expansion opportunities, and competitive threats.
  • Client Acquisition & Management:
    • Develop and execute targeted strategies to acquire new merchant and corporate accounts in the payments space.
    • Foster and nurture strategic relationships with key decision-makers at new and existing clients, collaborating effectively across internal teams as needed.
    • Employ a consultative, solution-oriented approach, demonstrating a firm understanding of Payments, APIs and the Blockchain space to effectively address client needs and successfully close deals.
    • Deep understanding of compliance and onboarding requirements of clients and their respective fund flows
    • Exhibit a robust network of clients and prospects in the Payments space
    • Proactively address client inquiries and resolve concerns related to StraitsX's solutions, prioritizing client satisfaction and fostering long-term retention.
  • Sales Performance & Analysis:
    • Reach out and engage with top Enterprise Companies, Payment Firms, Merchants to build a sustainable pipeline of new accounts, leading the sales cycle from pitching, onboarding, to closing, ensuring a first-class client experience throughout.
    • Initiate, manage and oversee the execution of commercial strategies and user growth campaigns.
  • Collaboration & Support:
    • Collaborate closely with internal teams like Compliance, Product, Operations, and Management to streamline sales operations and ensure alignment with overall business goals.
    • Maintain a deep understanding of emerging trends, market shifts, competitor activity, and new product developments within the digital asset, blockchain and payments landscape.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in business administration, finance, or a related field (preferred).
  • 12+ years of experience in sales, preferably within the banking, fintech and/or blockchain payments industry.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth in a competitive B2B environment, particularly within the digital payments space.
  • A demonstrable track record of people management.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a passion for innovation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot)
