About The Role

As a Data Engineer at StraitsX, you will play a pivotal role in the data team. You’ll be responsible for designing and maintaining our data warehouse, ensuring that stakeholders across the company have access to the accurate data they need for analysis and decision-making.

What You Will Do

  • Design and implement the data warehouse structure to meet analytics requirements.
  • Develop and maintain robust ETL pipelines, including ingesting data from external sources, creating transformations, and ensuring data integrity.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders (e.g., Product, Operations, Marketing) and fellow data team members to leverage data to optimize business processes.
  • Work with data analysts and other team members to optimize query efficiency and improve overall data performance.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, with experience in writing efficient and optimized code for data integration, storage, processing, and manipulation.
  • Experience in building data pipelines using tools like Airflow.
  • Solid understanding of Data Quality and Governance, including the ability to implement quality checks and monitoring processes to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Familiarity with handling Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data in data pipelines and transformations is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud-based data warehousing solutions such as BigQuery, Redshift, and BI tools (e.g., Metabase, Tableau).
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages, especially Python, is a plus.
