IT Manager
The IT Manager is a key leadership role responsible for managing a team of system administrators, overseeing the enablement and support function, and ensuring that IT Systems align with the company's strategic goals. This individual combines technical expertise with managerial skills to guide their team in delivering high-quality IT Systems, fostering collaboration, efficiency, and continuous improvement. The IT Manager reports to the Director of Security.

Key Responsibilities
- People Management: This position performs key people manager responsibilities such as performance, probation, leave, grievance, and disciplinary management, among others.
- Team Management and Development: Manages and develops a team of system administrators, setting clear goals and managing support loads.
- Team Development: Provides supportive feedback and career development guidance and encourages and supports learning and development.
- Project Management: Oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects within agreed timelines and budgets, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
- Collaboration and Communication: This person acts as a key liaison between the IT Team and other departments to ensure that the IT systems are aligned with business objectives.
- Technical Guidance: Provides technical leadership and guidance to the team, ensuring best practices in IT support are followed. Stays abreast of new technologies and industry trends, incorporating them into planning and decision-making.
- Performance Management: Conducts bi-annual performance reviews, fosters a culture of feedback, and implements strategies for individual and team growth.
- Process Improvement: Continually monitor, assess and improve IT systems to enhance team effectiveness and support quality.
- Recruitment and Team Building: Participates in interviewing prospective job candidates and evaluating technical screenings. Plays a crucial role in the onboarding process, building a cohesive and high-performing IT team.
- Quality Assurance: Champions a culture of high-quality IT systems and support. Establishes and enforces support SLAs. Leads efforts to identify and remediate technical debt, ensuring that the IT platforms remain performant.
- Standards: Contribute to fulfilling certification security requirements including, but not limited to, PCI and ISO27001.
- Purchasing and budget oversight: Liaising with the Finance team and other departments to ensure SaaS products are paid for and cost-effective. Supporting the Finance department in audits.
- Security compliance: Ensures that systems under the IT department's ambit are kept up to date with security patching and that onboarding and offboarding processes for staff access are adhered to as per SLA and policy.
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma or equivalent working experience
- Minimum of 8 years of leadership experience in the IT realm.
- Willingness to learn and find your own answers
- macOS experience
- Strong knowledge of networking, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and enterprise applications.
- Experience with IT service management (ITSM) frameworks.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies such as AI, IoT, and automation.
- Certifications such as PMP, CSM, ITIL, COBIT, CGEIT is a plus
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead and inspire team members.
- Strong ability to mentor engineering team members to ensure continued technical growth and progression in their career trajectory
- Ability to work effectively with other Managers, Staff Engineers, and Product Managers.
- Excellent project management skills
- Comfortable creating warm relationships with people.
