Position Overview

The Sales Associate will play a critical role in driving revenue growth for Stitch Express by acquiring and onboarding merchants. This position requires full ownership of the sales pipeline, from prospecting to deal closure, to successful merchant onboarding & go-live.

The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong sales orientation, excellent relationship management skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Pipeline Ownership

  • Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets (based on net new live revenue).
  • Source (outbound), qualify, and develop new leads across South Africa, targeting e-commerce and SME customers, specifically Shopify & WooCommerce.
  • Develop agency partnerships as a source of inbound leads.
  • Manage the entire sales & onboarding cycle, from prospecting through negotiation, deal closure, and onboarding of your own accounts, ensuring a smooth transition from signed contract to successful go-live.
  • Develop and execute strategies for prioritising, targeting, and closing key opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, account, and forecast data in the CRM.

Collaboration & Growth:

  • Share customer insights with the Growth and Product teams to refine go-to-market execution and product development.
  • Provide structured feedback into sales processes and playbooks to continuously improve how we sell and serve customers.
  • Stay agile and resourceful in a competitive environment, using innovative approaches to source and close deals.
  • Maintain a customer-first approach while consistently delivering revenue results.

 

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of proven work experience in B2B sales in account executive, or business development roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
  • Experience using CRM software, e.g. Hubspot, to track deal progress and indicate next steps.
  • Experience in fintech, payments, or e-commerce ecosystems is advantageous.
