Senior Credit Specialist

Stenn are looking for a Senior Credit Specialist. Could this be you?

 

The Role:

As a Senior Credit Specialist, you will work closely with the Credit Manager and will be responsible for planning and executing the strategy for a significant part of the credit portfolio.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Development of requisite underwriting principles and parameters for automated underwriting of a part of the credit portfolio. The credit portfolio is usually bifurcated among the Credit Specialists based on specific Geography & Industry sectors.
  • Review and enhance the underwriting principles and parameters through continuous testing and feedback.
  • Work closely with the Credit Manager for execution of transformative and automation projects related or linked to Credit risk function.
  • Work with Credit Manager on specific or larger deals from Enterprise Sales, Structuring and Partnership teams and create adequate solutions.
  • Conduct country and industry research and develop strategy for the assigned portfolio or new targets. Create summaries and reports on market trends and news.
  • Monitor and regularly assess the quality of the assigned credit portfolio and initiate corrective actions for minimising credit losses.
  • Maintain an understanding of current, new, and emerging risk trends within the assigned geographies and industries.

 

Background/Experience:

 

  • Minimum 9 years of experience in credit underwriting within the banking or financial services sector or FinTechs with working capital solutions  covering a variety of sectors and jurisdictions with a strong focus on the US SME sector.
  • Strong underwriting skills, expert in credit risk principles and financial analysis techniques including assessing creditworthiness.
  • Deep understanding of lending environment, wide range of geographies, industries and associated risk sensitivities.
  • Proven track record of making sound credit decisions of a significant mandate and managing credit risk in a commercial lending environment.
  • Proven experience in interacting with Top management of corporates and managing effective relationships.
  • Extensive experience in identifying and improving underwriting models, systems, parameters and processes through automation.
  • Sound understanding of cross-border transactions and its implications on the financial statements.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, prioritising tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective collaborator across various teams and ability to work on bespoke projects and be a champion of company’s Values.
