BIM Manager

Sines

The BIM Manager leads the development, implementation, and management of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes and standards across our data center projects. Reporting to the Head of Design, this role ensures that BIM is fully integrated into the project lifecycle - from concept and design through construction and handover - to deliver accurate, coordinated, and data-rich models that support design excellence, cost control, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

BIM Strategy & Implementation

  • Define, implement, and manage the company’s BIM strategy, standards, and workflows in alignment with industry best practices (ISO 19650).
  • Develop and maintain BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) for all projects and ensure consistent adherence by internal and external teams.
  • Drive the integration of BIM into all project phases - sales, design, coordination, construction, commissioning, and facilities handover.
  • Ensure all BIM models and data outputs support wider business needs, including asset management and sustainability reporting.

Project Delivery & Coordination

  • Oversee the creation, coordination, and validation of multidisciplinary BIM models (architecture, mechanical, electrical, civil, structural).
  • Manage clash detection, coordination reviews, and design validation to reduce rework and ensure construction accuracy.
  • Support project teams in maintaining accurate model-based deliverables, drawings, and documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with design consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure alignment with the company’s BIM standards and protocols.

Technology & Innovation

  • Evaluate and implement digital tools to improve design coordination, visualization, and project data management.
  • Champion the use of parametric modeling, digital twins, and data-driven design methodologies.
  • Manage the integration of BIM data with other platforms (e.g., ERP, CDE, GIS, CMMS).
  • Stay current with evolving BIM technologies, automation tools, and data standards to continuously enhance company capabilities.

Team Development & Support

  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to design and project teams on BIM processes and tools.
  • Ensure alignment and collaboration between internal stakeholders (Sales Engineering, Design, Engineering, Delivery, Operations) on BIM deliverables.
  • Act as the primary BIM interface with external partners - consultants, contractors, and technology providers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • 7+ years of experience in BIM management within large-scale, multidisciplinary design or construction environments.
  • Strong command of Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360 / ACC, and related collaboration platforms.
  • Proven experience with ISO 19650 workflows, BIM standards, and document management best practices.
  • Excellent understanding of data center or mission-critical facility design, or other complex infrastructure projects.
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese
  • Experience in Digital Twin implementation and integration with operations systems.
  • Certification in BIM Management or ISO 19650 accreditation is a plus.
