The role 

We are looking for an International Accounts Receivable Specialist who will be responsible for managing the end-to-end receivables process across multiple entities, currencies, and jurisdictions. The role involves managing global customer collections, revenue applications, credit risk, and expenses. 

Key Responsibilities 

Global Customer Collections: Proactively working with the Credit Control Manager and international stakeholders to reduce aged debt.  This role requires a strong understanding of financial concepts and excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and internal teams establishing structured, collaborative, and preventative measures rather than purely reactive chasing. 

Revenue Applications: Accurately allocating client payments in multiple currencies and matching incoming funds to specific invoices, while resolving discrepancies that involves investigating mismatches and making necessary adjustments 

Communication: Maintaining accurate written record of collection initiatives to capture key information. 

Dispute Resolution: Manage escalated collection processes while exercising sound judgment in resolving issues. Collaborating with stakeholder and finance and billing teams to resolve invoice disputes.  Escalate larger or problematic accounts to The Credit Manager as appropriate. 

Credit Risk Management: Support credit risk assessments of new and existing customers. 

Partnering with Business Unit coordinators and assisting in their invoice processes 

Expenses and credit cards- Working with the Global office manager - to monitor credit cards and expenses   

  • Resolve queries with employees regarding expense submissions making sure expense claims are in line with company policy  
  • Review Submissions and check receipts, VAT treatment, and approvals for accuracy and compliance  
  • Post expenses into the accounting system and assist with expense reporting  
  • Support improvements to expense processes and controls  
  • Maintain accurate records of employee communication  

 Finance Support  

  • Cover for finance assistant  
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including reconciliations  
  • Support audits by providing documentation and explanations when required  
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the wider Finance team as needed  

  

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR  

  • The qualifications and experience required to perform this role successfully are:  
  • Proven experience in a similar role  
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail  
  • Confident communication skills, particularly when chasing payments  
  • Good working knowledge of Excel and Salesforce  
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines  
  • Proficiency in English and in MS Office.  
  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills.   
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail   

  

The role will be based in our Cape Town office. All candidates must have permission to work in South Africa by the startof their employment.
