DIGITAL PRODUCT MANAGER

Our Corporate Intelligence division uses the latest research and intelligence-gathering techniques to investigate how companies and individuals really do business in today’s world. We work with some of the most prominent and sophisticated organisations to help them understand partners, customers, assets and territories across the globe - the healthcare company a private equity firm wants to invest in; the prospective client a bank wants to onboard; the market a multinational wants to enter. We also provide specialised investigative support to law firms, businesses and individuals in contentious situations such as litigation, commercial disputes and internal investigations.
From our offices in London, New York, Washington DC, Kuala Lumpur Hong Kong, Singapore and Cape Town, we deliver critical insights from every country across the world. THE ROLE
At S-RM no day is the same, and there are incredible opportunities to learn. This role will be providing support to our Corporate Intelligence (CI) team working on products that will grow revenues and support internal efficiencies through technology, innovation and building new and expanding existing digital products by continuous enhancing client value.
We are looking for someone who is adaptable, can be part of a team and wants to grow with the business. A Product Manager is likely to take on the following tasks:
- Taking ownership for product vision, strategy and value proposition and alignment with the CI product portfolio strategy
- Scoping and conducting regular user research for both discovery and execution phase
- Lead the early requirement discovery and analysis and break them down into releases, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Delivering the product roadmap, driving features and products through the development process, ensuring roadmaps are clear, prioritized, achievable, and aligned with the wider strategy.
- Leading a product engineering teams, chairing sprint planning, backlog grooming and retrospectives in the Agile environment
- Working efficiently with various products metrics to help to inform product development, commercial decisions, process improvements and impact on the strategic direction.
- Accepting completed stories, monitoring progress, reporting status, and managing key release activities including documentation, training and user support.
The role will be based in our Cape Town office, however we have hybrid working arrangements available.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for someone that is able to adapt to change and work comfortably in a fast-paced environment, this person will have some or all of these skills:
- Product Management experience;
- We will need experience that goes beyond the ‘Delivery’ phase (i.e. managing a backlog, defining requirements and designs, managing sprint cycles).
- Prior experience of end-to-end ownership of products
- In preference to ownership of sub-parts of existing websites, apps or other services;
- Experience of identifying, designing and delivering new products and/or services;
- Strong requirement elicitation, analysis, domain modelling, use case modelling, workflow design, and documentation skills;
- Proven track of record of working efficiently with defining and tracking various products metrics to help to inform product development, commercial decisions, process improvements and impact on the strategic direction;
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.
- Experience of developing software products that use natural language processing (NLP), data mining and/or data analytics technologies (preferred)
- Experience with Agile and Scrum development methodologies
- Commercial/financial awareness – if you do not have P&L experience, then experience creating business cases combined with a knowledge of foundational business financial metrics and concepts.
Candidates must have permission to work in South Africa by the start of their employment.
