Who we are supporting 

The NATO Communication and Information Agency (NCIA) is responsible for providing secure and effective communications and information technology (IT) services to NATO's member countries and its partners. The agency was established in 2012 and is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium.

The NCIA provides a wide range of services, including:

  • Cyber Security: The NCIA provides advanced cybersecurity solutions to protect NATO's communication networks and information systems against cyber threats.
  • Command and Control Systems: The NCIA develops and maintains the systems used by NATO's military commanders to plan and execute operations.
  • Satellite Communications: The NCIA provides satellite communications services to enable secure and reliable communications between NATO forces.
  • Electronic Warfare: The NCIA provides electronic warfare services to support NATO's mission to detect, deny, and defeat threats to its communication networks.
  • Information Management: The NCIA manages NATO's information technology infrastructure, including its databases, applications, and servers.

Overall, the NCIA plays a critical role in ensuring the security and effectiveness of NATO's communication and information technology capabilities.

The program

Assistance and Advisory Service (AAS)

The NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency) is NATO’s principal C3 capability deliverer and CIS service provider. It provides, maintains and defends the NATO enterprise-wide information technology infrastructure to enable Allies to consult together under Article IV, and, when required, stand together in the face of attack under Article V.

To provide these critical services, in the modern evolving dynamic environment the NCI Agency needs to build and maintain high performance-engaged workforce. The NCI Agency workforce strategically consists of three major categorise's: NATO International Civilians (NIC)'s, Military (Mil), and Interim Workforce Consultants (IWC)'s. The IWCs are a critical part of the overall NCI Agency workforce and make up approximately 15 percent of the total workforce.


Role Duties and Responsibilities

In coordination with the NISC Configuration Management Tech Lead, the BMC Developer will perform duties such as the following:

  • Implement CMDB technologies based on agreed technical requirements, and in coherence with the system design and architecture;
  • Work with the relevant parties to ensure the CMDB systems are configured and aligned to the agreed NISC and NCIA processes;
  • Performs operational activities as defined by Configuration Management policies and procedures
  • Work to fulfill Configuration Management Service Requests as assigned
  • Engages with strategic projects to ensure Configuration Management can deliver required functionality within project timeframes
  • Provide support to the Technical Lead in ensuring technical coherence across multiple development streams;
  • Develop Build and Configuration documentation of the CMDB system(s) and provide support in the development of Testing and Training documentation;
  • Provide support in the testing phases of the CMDB system(s), including but not limited to Factory Acceptance and User Acceptance Testing events;
  • Provide support in both the preparation and during the Transition to Operations of new ITSM system(s) post Go-Live, including handover activities to the Operations Team.
  • Design and Build the reports and dashboards as per NISC requirements
  • Perform Data management Tasks as per indication of the Tech Lead and designs implemented
  • Works to fulfill Configuration Management Service Requests as assigned
  • Performs operational activities as defined by Configuration Management policies and procedures

Essential Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years recent experience in BMC Remedy ITSM Suite development (version 9.1 and higher). BMC Certified Professional qualification is highly beneficial but not required;
  • Extensive Experience in BMC Discovery (version 11.x and higher).
  • ITIL 2011 Foundation certificate beneficial;
  • Experience in BMC TrueSight Operations Management (version 10.x and higher) beneficial.

Skills and Competencies

  • Extensive experience installing BMC Remedy Suite
  • Extensive experience configuring and customising the BMC Remedy suite to align to an organisation's business processes based
  • Strong experience gathering, preparing, and loading foundation data into Remedy ITSM;
  • Experience configuring Approval Center and approval chains;
  • Extensive Knowledge and experience installing and configuring Remedy Atrium CMDB;
  • Knowledge and experience integrating various data sources (such as MS SCCM) with Remedy Atrium CMDB;
  • Experience in deploying and configuring/customising Remedy with Smart IT;
  • Experience in deploying and configuring/customising Digital
  • Extensive experience in CMDB Automation within the multiple technologies
  • Experience in Implementing and Configuring DCIM Patchmanager tool
  • Extensive Experience in MS PowerBI

Education

  • A university degree in Computer Engineering or related discipline; alternatively, 5 years of equivalent industry experience;

  • Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium

  • On-Site

Travel

  • Travel to other NATO Entities might be needed on a monthly basis TDY within Belgium up to 50 per year

Security Clearance

  • Valid National or NATO Secret personal security clearance
