We are now looking to recruit an experienced Technical Lead - Transfer Agency to join our global team.

 

Position Overview:  

 

The Technical Lead - Transfer Agency is responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely execution of transfer agency activities for closed-ended funds, while providing technical leadership and guidance to the wider team. The role requires deep expertise in transfer agency operations, strong problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to drive process improvements and best practices.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement, while acting as a senior point of contact for complex queries, escalations, and stakeholder engagement.

 

Responsibilities:  

 

  • Oversee and support the processing of capital calls, distributions, subscriptions, redemptions, and transfers for closed-ended funds
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight on complex cases, ensuring accuracy and consistency across the team
  • Maintain oversight of investor and contact databases, ensuring data integrity and completeness
  • Ensure all investor records, registers, and transaction histories are properly maintained
  • Review and support periodic reporting and reconciliations related to investor activity
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with Sonata One policies, internal procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor adherence to client-specific SLAs and regulatory deadlines
  • Identify, escalate, and help resolve operational risks, errors, or breaches in a timely manner
  • Act as a senior point of contact for internal teams, clients, and external service providers
  • Support and mentor junior team members, promoting knowledge sharing and development
  • Collaborate with global fund services teams to ensure alignment and efficiency
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across processes, controls, and systems

 

Qualifications:  

 

  • Proven experience in Transfer Agency, specifically within a closed-ended funds environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of transfer agency processes and fund operations
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring, coaching, or leading team members
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage complex tasks and priorities
  • Relevant degree preferred

This role will require background checks including police checks due to the regulated nature of our business and access to confidential data.
