Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Specialist

The AP/AR Specialist will play a key role in maintaining the financial health and operational efficiency of SmartState’s U.S. entity. This position is responsible for the accurate processing of invoices, payments, and receivables, as well as assisting with month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and manage vendor invoices, purchase orders, and employee reimbursements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare and process payments via ACH, wire, or check, maintaining accurate documentation and approval trails.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve billing discrepancies promptly.
  • Generate and issue customer invoices, track payments, and follow up on outstanding receivables.
  • Monitor accounts to ensure timely collections and maintain accurate AR aging reports.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and reconciliations.
  • Support the preparation of budgets, financial reports and audit documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions in the accounting system.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (Operations, HR, and Legal) to ensure data accuracy and workflow efficiency.
  • Assist in implementing and improving financial procedures and internal controls.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5 years of experience in accounts payable and/or receivable functions.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and U.S. GAAP standards.
    Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar).
  • Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and teamwork.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in a fast-growing or international technology environment.
  • Familiarity with iGaming, sports betting, or other regulated industries.
  • Exposure to multi-entity or cross-border financial operations.
  • Bilingual in Russian/Ukrainian/Hebrew a plus
