Junior Accountant (m/f/d)

About the job

As a junior accountant, you will be part of Sofico’s international Finance team, working in close collaboration with your colleagues and focusing on accuracy, timeliness and compliance, mainly ensuring the smooth running of the financial operations by processing accounting transactions and assisting with the month end closing process.

Your key responsibilities will include :

• Bank transactions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, VAT, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
• Provide support during annual financial audits
• Following an initial onboarding period, you'll familiarize yourself with our accounting practices and specific business processes, you'll progressively assume accounting responsibility for at least one legal entity .

Your interests and skills 

• A degree in Accountancy, Finance or Economics or equivalent experience
• At least 2 to 3 years of significant accounting experience (understanding of financial accounting principles and their application)
• Good solid technical skills: the ability to navigate and utilize various software effectively
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, with the ability to perform essential tasks efficiently.
• An understanding of VAT and its implications in financial transactions.
• Fluency in English and Dutch, both written and verbal, to ensure clear communication. Any other language is a plus.

Nice to have :

• Experience of working in an international business
• Experience of working in a technology or professional services business
• Familiarity with NetSuite
