Battery Test Engineer
TTF (Toyota Test Field)
We are developing a revolutionary eVTOL and are looking for a skilled Battery Test Engineer to join our Element Test team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and executing tests on our eVTOL's battery systems.
You'll be a key contributor to establishing a reliable testing environment, ensuring the quality and safety of a critical component of our eVTOL technology.
Work Location: Aichi Japan/ Toyota Test Field
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement comprehensive test plans for battery cells, modules, and packs.
- Design and build test setups to evaluate battery performance, including capacity, power, and thermal characteristics.
- Conduct and oversee tests to validate battery safety, durability, and reliability under a wide range of operational conditions.
- Utilize advanced battery cyclers, environmental chambers, and data acquisition systems to collect and analyze test data.
- Document test procedures, results, and conclusions in detailed reports to support Type Certification.
- Collaborate with the battery design and electrical engineering teams to identify and solve technical issues and optimize battery performance.
- Troubleshoot test equipment and improve test processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
What We're Looking For
Essential Skills:
- Proven experience in battery testing (e.g., lithium-ion, solid-state).
- Experience in test plan development and execution.
- Hands-on experience with battery cyclers and data acquisition systems.
- Knowledge of battery management systems (BMS) and their testing.
- Familiarity with battery safety standards and regulations.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with LabVIEW or other test automation software.
- Experience with testing for aerospace or automotive applications.
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis.
- Knowledge of battery abuse testing and failure analysis.

- Permanent Employee or Contract Employee
- Probationary period: 3~6 month
Place of Employment
- Nagoya Airport Office: Nagoya Airport Terminal Building 2nd floor, Toyoba, Toyoyama-Cho, Nishikasugai, Aichi Prefecture
- Toyota Test Field - Asuke, Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture
- Medium to long term travel to testing sites will be required due to this position's characteristics.
- Scope of Change: Places determined by the Company (including places where telework is performed)
Working Hours
- Flextime or Discretionary labor system
- Basic working hours: Start 9:00 End 18:00(Including 1hour break time)
Holidays
- 115 days off per year(Saturday / Sundays / Newyear holidays(12/29~1/3) / Company designated holidays)
- Annual paid leave
- Refresh leave (Granted after 1, 3, 4, 5 years of service)
Salary
- Estimated Annual Salary: JPY 5,440,000 - JPY 10,280,000
- Monthly Salary: JPY 454,000 - JPY 857,000
- Includes fixed overtime pay for 45 hours, amounting to JPY 157,173 - JPY 296,697
*Additional overtime pay will be provided for hours exceeding the fixed overtime.
