Ground Support Equipment ( GSE ) Maintenance Engineer
Job Summary
The Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Maintenance Engineer is a crucial role responsible for the upkeep, repair, and operational readiness of all ground-based equipment used to support our eVTOL or aerospace products. This role ensures the safety, efficiency, and reliability of all GSE, which is essential for our flight test and manufacturing operations. The engineer will also be involved in the design and procurement of new GSE, collaborating with engineering and flight operations teams to meet program needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform scheduled maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of GSE, including specialized tooling, charging stations, tugs, stands, and lifts. You'll ensure all equipment is operational and calibrated to the required specifications.
- Operational Readiness: Maintain and track the serviceability of all GSE in support of flight test and production operations. This includes managing maintenance schedules, service bulletins, and spare parts inventory to minimize downtime.
- Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain maintenance manuals, work instructions, and technical documentation for all GSE. You'll ensure all records are accurate and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Design and Procurement Support: Collaborate with the engineering and flight operations teams to define requirements for new GSE. This includes providing technical input during the design and procurement phases to ensure equipment is fit for purpose, safe, and easily maintainable.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations (e.g., OSHA) related to the use and maintenance of GSE. You'll conduct regular safety inspections and ensure all equipment is in full compliance with safety standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to maintenance procedures, tooling, and equipment to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance safety.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a maintenance or engineering role, preferably within the aerospace, automotive, or heavy machinery industries.
- Technical Knowledge: A strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and repair of complex machinery is essential. Familiarity with battery charging systems and high-voltage electronics is a significant plus.
- Soft Skills:
- Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and solve complex technical issues under pressure.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous in documenting all maintenance activities and adhering to safety protocols.
- Proactive: Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities independently.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with a new aircraft certification program, particularly for eVTOL or AAM vehicles.
- Experience with automated or robotic GSE systems.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., A&P license).
- Knowledge of calibration processes and equipment.
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) such as AS9100.

Working Hours
- Flextime or Discretionary labor system
- In the case of flextime: No core time
- Discretionary Labor System: Specialized Class Deemed working hours per day: 10 hours
- Basic working hours: Start 9:00 End 18:00(Including 1hour break time)
- Overtime Work: Available

Salary
- Estimated Annual Salary: JPY 6,850,000 - JPY 11,500,000
- Monthly Salary: JPY 571,000 - JPY 959,000
- Includes fixed overtime pay for 45 hours, amounting to JPY 197,680 - JPY 331,997
*Additional overtime pay will be provided for hours exceeding the fixed overtime.
