Test Automation Engineer

Toyoyama, Aichi

We are pioneering the future of air transportation and are looking for a skilled Test Automation Engineer to join our team. As we move closer to obtaining Type Certification for our eVTOL, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing the automated testing systems that will validate the safety and performance of our aircraft.

This is a unique opportunity to build and integrate the very systems that will ensure the reliability of a revolutionary new vehicle.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement automated test procedures and scripts to validate a wide range of eVTOL systems.
  • Design and build Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test environments to simulate flight conditions and test critical systems.
  • Create comprehensive test plans tailored to the unique requirements of our eVTOL.
  • Utilize advanced data acquisition and analysis tools to process test data for performance, stability, and control characteristics.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to assess and integrate automated and piloted systems.
  • Conduct risk assessments and contribute to the development of safety procedures.
  • Prepare detailed test reports, documenting procedures, results, and conclusions.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience in test automation or software development.
  • Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems.
  • Strong background in flight testing, preferably with aircraft or similar aerial vehicles.
  • Knowledge of system integration and design.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in creating and evaluating test requirements.
  • Knowledge of flight characteristics, performance, and data analysis.
  • Experience with eVTOL development.
  • Working experience with measurement and data analysis tools.
  • Some experience with Type Certification (TC) acquisition.

Skills for Collaborative Success:

  • A proactive and self-motivated professional with the ability to act on your own initiative.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • A great listener who can draw out potential issues and drive projects forward.
  • A passion for shaping the future of urban air transportation.

Why This Role Is Unique

This isn't just a job; it's a chance to make history. You will be a core member of a unified team—including cockpit, airframe, and pilot teams—all working toward the single goal of creating a certified eVTOL. Our manned, multi-propeller eVTOL is a first-of-its-kind vehicle, and you will play a key role in its development. Nothing beats the joy of building an eVTOL with your own hands and seeing it fly.
