Structure Test Engineer

We're pioneering the future of air mobility and are looking for a skilled Structures Test Engineer to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for planning and executing the structural tests that will validate the safety and integrity of our eVTOL aircraft, bringing us one step closer to Type Certification.

You'll be a key part of the team that ensures the structural integrity and reliability of our groundbreaking aircraft.
Work Location: Aichi Japan/ Toyota Test Field 

What You'll Do

  • Develop comprehensive structural test plans tailored to the unique requirements of our eVTOL, including both static and fatigue testing.
  • Design and implement advanced instrumentation and data acquisition systems to collect and analyze data on stress, strain, and other structural characteristics.
  • Collaborate with design, stress analysis, and certification teams to define test requirements and ensure all tests meet regulatory standards.
  • Conduct and oversee structural tests on components, sub-assemblies, and the full airframe.
  • Perform risk assessments and contribute to the development of safety procedures for all structural test campaigns.
  • Prepare detailed test reports, documenting procedures, results, and conclusions to support Type Certification.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to drive the project forward.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience in structural testing of aircraft or similar vehicles, with a strong background in aerospace engineering.
  • Experience in creating and evaluating test requirements.
  • Knowledge of structural analysis and the ability to interpret and analyze test data.
  • A proactive, self-motivated professional with the ability to act on your own initiative.
  • The ability to drive projects forward and manage tasks across teams.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with eVTOL development.
  • Working knowledge of measurement and data analysis tools.
  • Experience with Part 27/29 or similar certification.
  • Knowledge of system integration and design.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Type of Employment

  • Permanent Employee or Contract Employee
  • Probationary period: 3~6 month

Place of Employment

  • Nagoya Airport Office: Nagoya Airport Terminal Building 2nd floor, Toyoba, Toyoyama-Cho, Nishikasugai, Aichi Prefecture
  • Toyota Test Field - Asuke, Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture
    • Medium to long term travel to testing sites will be required due to this position's characteristics.
  • Scope of Change: Places determined by the Company (including places where telework is performed)

Working Hours

  • Flextime or Discretionary labor system
  • Basic working hours: Start 9:00 End 18:00(Including 1hour break time)

Holidays

  • 115 days off per year(Saturday / Sundays / Newyear holidays(12/29~1/3) / Company designated holidays)
  • Annual paid leave
  • Refresh leave (Granted after 1, 3, 4, 5 years of service)

Salary

  • Estimated Annual Salary: JPY 5,440,000 - JPY 10,280,000
  • Monthly Salary: JPY 454,000 - JPY 857,000
    • Includes fixed overtime pay for 45 hours, amounting to JPY 157,173 - JPY 296,697
      *Additional overtime pay will be provided for hours exceeding the fixed overtime.
  • To be determined based on skills, experience, and abilities
