Deployment Engineer (All Genders)

Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, Greece

Your Mission

You own the end-to-end software deployment, firmware flashing, and baseline configuration across all onboard computing nodes on newly assembled drones. You aren't just packing crates; you are ensuring that every aircraft's software and tuning state is flight-ready, and that field deployment kits allow military units to unpack, power up, and launch within minutes in austere environments.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Flashing & Config: Own end-to-end software deployment, firmware flashing, and baseline configuration across all onboard computing nodes on newly assembled drones.
  • Autopilot Tuning: Configure, calibrate, and verify all parameter settings within the DroneCore carrier board and PX4 autopilot, including flight control PID gains, filter tunes, motor output mappings, and sensor offsets.
  • Configuration Baselines: Manage version-controlled configuration baselines, execute automated software flashing routines at the end of the production line, and validate flight-readiness.
  • Deployment Kits & GSE: Define and validate field deployment procedures, tactical transport cases, ground support equipment (GSE), and field repair kits.
  • Pre-Delivery Functional Verification: Perform final pre-delivery functional checks and support on-site field setup, customer integration, and technical troubleshooting during trial deployments.
  • Engineering Feedback: Feed operational, field-handling, and packaging feedback directly back to R&D and production engineering.

Required Skills

  • 2–5 years of professional experience in field engineering, systems integration, or technical deployment of ruggedized hardware / UAS.
  • Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, RF, and software domains.
  • Experience with UAS field operations, PX4 autopilot stack, ground control software (QGC), and battery charging infrastructure.
  • Practical understanding of environmental protection (IP ratings, MIL-STD-810 transit cases).
  • Working proficiency in English; high willingness to travel to customer sites and field trial locations (~40%).
  • Must be a citizen of a NATO member state (due to export control and security regulations).
