Role Overview
We are looking for a Golang Software Engineer for our client. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining backend services using Go within a modern software ecosystem. You will collaborate closely with a cross-functional Scrum team distributed across Europe, including analysts, backend and frontend developers, product designers, and project leads. Together, you will contribute to building secure, scalable, and high-quality solutions that support and improve critical healthcare processes.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Maintain, enhance, and expand existing Golang services to deliver meaningful value to end users.
• Design and develop new backend components based on functional analysis, ensuring smooth integration with external applications and systems.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, following best practices such as test-driven development, refactoring, and consistent coding standards.
• Actively participate in knowledge sharing within the team, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
• Collaborate closely with analysts, designers, and developers to translate functional requirements into high-quality software solutions.
• Levarage and apply domain knowledge from the healthcare sector to build solutions that support critical workflows and enhance overall product performance.
• Troubleshoot issues, debug services, and optimize performance to ensure reliability and scalability across the platform.
  
  

 What You’ll Bring

• Proficiency in Golang and experience developing backend services 
• Strong understanding of backend systems, API development, and both relational & NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with REST, gRPC, and modern DevOps tools (Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD).
• Solid grasp of software architecture, object-oriented design, and common design patterns.
• Experience working in Scrum teams, especially in distributed or remote environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and a proactive mindset—including openness to using AI tools for development.
  
  

Nice to Haves

• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform; experience with other cloud providers is also valuable
• Experience with front-end JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or Bootstrap.
• Previous exposure to the healthcare domain or healthcare-related software projects.
• Knowledge of application lifecycle management and CI/CD practices using tools like Jira, Git, and GKE.
