Senior React Native Engineer

SheMed is a fast-growing UK-based brand on a mission to close the gender gap in health outcomes, starting with smarter, tech-enabled weight-loss solutions for women.

We're looking for a Senior React Native Engineer to join our team and take work across customer retention and engagement features across our mobile app. Your focus will be building the experiences that keep our customers supported, informed, and progressing from adherence tracking and push notifications to weekly check-ins and in-app content delivery.

You’ll work closely with Product, Clinical, and Growth teams to ship user-facing features that help our customers stay engaged with their health journey. This is a high-impact role focused on long-term value creation, driving both outcomes and customer satisfaction.

Our mobile stack is built with React Native, Expo, TypeScript, and GraphQL.

This is an office based role, located in Euston London. We operate Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

  • Develop and maintain customer-facing retention features within our React Native mobile app, including: 
    • Daily/weekly check-ins Progress tracking
    • Messaging and support interfaces
    • Personalised In-App content
    • Add on purchase experience
  • Collaborate with Product teams to translate behavior change models into simple, supportive in-app feature
  • Contribute to the wide React Native / Native App architectural design and best practices
  • Monitor mobile performance and proactively address bugs, crashes, or UX blockers

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Technical Skills (Essential)

    • 4+ years in software engineering, with 2+ years in React Native
    • Proficient in TypeScript, React Native, GraphQL
    • Comfortable working with mobile app deployment (App Store / Play Store), OTA updates, and CI/CD pipelines
    • Experience building and shipping high-quality mobile UIs
    • Experience with Expo
    • Comfortable integrating third-party SDKs
    • Deep understanding of FE unit, integration, and E2E UI test best practices.

    Retention & Product Skills

    • Experience working on mobile products with a focus on retention, engagement, or behavior change
    • Strong understanding of customer lifecycle strategies, push notification best practices, and in-app messaging design
    • Able to work cross-functionally with Product, Clinical, and Marketing teams
    • Skilled at producing concise technical guides and specs.
  • Preferred

    • Experience in healthtech or consumer wellness apps
    • Some familiarity with Braze, Posthog, Stripe
    • Knowledge of privacy frameworks like GDPR, especially around notification and tracking consent
