About the Role:
Our Engineering Team is expanding and we are looking for a QA Engineer to join our data-driven organisation. You will work closely with the QA Lead and QA Engineers to enhance the quality and reliability of our SaaS platform, which processes over a billion documents monthly. In this role you will contribute to our mission by helping to improve customer experience by ensuring the product aligns with their expectations and reducing the risk of customer found defects being raised when the product is deployed.
Development Opportunities:
Joining a small QA team, you will have opportunities to have a real impact on how we work by contributing and developing QA processes at SciLeads. You will have exposure and hands-on experience to test automation, making this a great role for someone with manual experience who is keen to gain more experience in automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working closely with development engineers to design test cases to validate new features.
- Perform exploratory testing of new functionality in addition to manual execution of planned tests.
- Log defects found as a result of testing.
- Reporting testing progress to QA Lead and other engineering management.
- Contribute to maintaining and expanding our automation framework to support regression, integration, and performance testing.
- Partner with data engineers, product managers, and developers to ensure alignment with quality objectives.
- Contribute to improving QA processes and practices.
- Assist with incident response and root cause analysis efforts to prevent recurrence.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Experience in conducting functional and non-functional testing.
- Proficiency in SQL and data querying languages.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Based in United Kingdom.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Expertise in test automation frameworks and tools ideally with Playwright or Selenium.
- Experience in OOP languages such as C# or Java.
- Experience of data processing pipelines, ETL processes.
- Experience with performance testing tools and methodologies.
- Knowledge and experience of working CI/CD tools.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms and technologies.
- Experience with data validation, data quality and data profiling tools.
- Understanding of how AI can help with QA tasks.
- QA certifications (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE)
- Understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and security best practices.
