
Assistant Director, Digitalisation & IT Ops

YOUR ROLE:
Reporting to the Deputy Executive Director, you will lead *SCAPE’s IT operations, ensuring the availability, stability, and performance of the organization’s IT systems and networks. You will drive technological innovation, enhancing operational processes, and safeguarding the organisation’s digital assets. Working with all teams, you will integrate emerging technologies, optimise IT processes, and foster a culture of continuous learning and technology adoption.
YOU WILL BE WORKING ON:
Digitalisation & IT Strategy
- Plan, drive, and support the adoption of digital tools and solutions across all functional units, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, particularly in areas such as youth outreach, IT infrastructure, data collection, sustainability, and building security.
- Analyse departmental IT needs and recommend suitable strategies, digital tools, and solutions to Management and the Board to achieve desired outcomes or address existing gaps.
- Lead & implement *SCAPE’s membership scheme, incentivising and recognizing youth involvement within the *SCAPE ecosystem. This includes working with Marketing department to enhance the user interface and experience of online outreach assets, and partner with the Programmes team to implement web 2.0 and 3.0 tools that drive youth engagement and participation.
- Redesign and implement the internet connectivity infrastructure in alignment with upcoming building renovations and propose an effective digital work environment for staff.
- Lead data analysis efforts in collaboration with the Strategic Planning team to provide insights and recommendations for retail engagements and other functional areas.
- Design and implement a building management system that optimises cost, energy, and manpower efficiency, and support revenue diversification through electronic payments, e-commerce, and fundraising initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Facilities Management team to redesign a robust building security system using smart technology, enhancing security while maintaining convenience for youth.
- Lead the Enterprise Architecture Steering Committee, guiding and directing the architecture program and ensuring alignment with management’s strategic goals.
IT Operations & Cybersecurity
- Oversee all IT operations, ensuring the maintenance, configuration, and updating of software applications, employee devices, servers, databases, and other IT infrastructure, while ensuring compliance with corporate governance and regulatory standards.
- Monitor system performance across servers, networks, and databases to proactively identify and address potential issues, minimizing downtime and preventing system failures.
- Manage data storage systems, implementing appropriate solutions and ensuring regular and secure backups to prevent data loss in the event of system failures or breaches.
- Ensure robust cybersecurity measures, including the implementation of firewalls, antivirus software, and user access management to protect against cyber threats and unauthorized access.
- Oversee the management of applications and communication systems, ensuring the availability, reliability, and security of email, instant messaging, and video conferencing platforms.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts and provide technical support, while also overseeing employee training on software applications and hardware systems as needed.
IT Policies & Administration
- Lead the implementation, discussion and review of all IT-related policies and standard operating procedures in view of mandatory annual IT audit and ensure sound business continuity for the organisation.
- Serve as the budget custodian for all IT and digital transformation-related expenses, ensuring prudent spending and effective use of funds.
- Work with Management to source, pursue and secure suitable funding to support approved implementations.
Team Management & Internal Collaboration
- Coach and guide the team on developing interdisciplinary skills sets.
- Strategise the sharing of best practices, success stories, and other valuable information among internal teams and stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of *SCAPE's overall strategic plan and vision.
WHO YOU ARE:
- At least 9 years of relevant working experience, preferably with at least 6 years of experience in managing teams.
- Experience identifying, developing and implementing solutions for large-scale technical projects – including liaising with engineers and software developers.
- Experience in third-party vendor management.
- Experience with ICT hardware, mobile phones and web-based technologies, particularly designing or deploying tools appropriate to low-band-width environments.
- Experience in other technical areas, i.e. network administration, support services management, messaging, database administration and data visualization.
- Professional certification in ICT project management, programming, software engineering, business analytics, telecommunications and/or information security is an advantage
- Knowledge on human-centred design thinking approaches, information systems, requirements analysis and software development is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills to establish connections with different internal and external stakeholders, and to possess the ability to persuade, motivate and influence these stakeholders to better meet the strategic goals of *SCAPE and MCCY.
