
Assistant Director, Digitalisation & IT Ops

YOUR ROLE:
Reporting to the Deputy Executive Director, you will lead *SCAPE’s IT operations, ensuring the availability, stability, and performance of the organization’s IT systems and networks. You will drive technological innovation, enhancing operational processes, and safeguarding the organisation’s digital assets. Working with all teams, you will integrate emerging technologies, optimise IT processes, and foster a culture of continuous learning and technology adoption.
YOU WILL BE WORKING ON:
Strategic & Digital Transformation Leadership
- Develop and execute digital and IT strategies aligned with *SCAPE’s youth-centric mission and strategic goals.
- Serve as the organisation’s digital thought leader and recommend suitable strategies, digital tools, and solutions to Management and the Board to achieve *SCAPE’s strategic objectives or address existing gaps.
- Champion organisation-wide digital transformation, automation, and the adoption of emerging technologies such as AI and cloud platforms.
- Foster a culture of digital innovation through cross-departmental collaboration and agile solution delivery.
- Support the Marketing team in data collection, visualization, communication and other technical aspects of *SCAPE’s membership and CRM, incentivising and recognizing youth involvement within the *SCAPE ecosystem. This includes working with Marketing department to enhance the user interface and experience of online outreach assets, and partner with the Programmes team to implement web 2.0 and 3.0 tools that drive youth engagement and participation.
- Redesign and implement the internet connectivity infrastructure in alignment with upcoming building renovations and propose an effective digital work environment for staff.
- Lead data warehousing and analytics efforts in collaboration with the Strategic Planning team to provide insights and recommendations for retail engagements and other functional areas.
- Collaborate with the Estates and Facilities Management team to implement the Building Management System (BMS), door access controls, CCTV surveillance, and IoT/Digital Twin solutions to optimize energy use and support sustainability goals.
- Lead the Enterprise Architecture Steering Committee, guiding and directing the architecture program and ensuring alignment with management’s strategic goals.
IT Operations & Infrastructure
- Lead the IT department’s daily operations including infrastructure, network management, and helpdesk services, while ensuring compliance with corporate governance and regulatory standards.
- Monitor system performance across servers, networks, and databases to proactively identify and address potential issues, minimizing downtime and preventing system failures.
- Manage data storage systems, implementing appropriate solutions and ensuring regular and secure backups to prevent data loss in the event of system failures or breaches.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts and provide technical support, while also overseeing employee training on software applications and hardware systems as needed.
- Modernise systems by migrating legacy infrastructure to scalable cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Oversee endpoint management, system reliability, and secure access controls (e.g., zero-trust frameworks).
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Enforce robust IT security standards including audits, cybersecurity training, phishing simulations, and disaster recovery plans.
- Maintain or achieve relevant certifications (e.g., Cyber Essential Trust Mark, ISO 27001) and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
- Ensure secure cybersecurity measures, including the implementation of firewalls, antivirus software, and user access management to protect against cyber threats and unauthorized access.
Software & Systems Development
- Manage in-house software development or third-party application for CRM platforms integrating event ticketing, payment systems, and membership management.
- Ensure seamless integration of digital systems through API architecture and microservices.
Data & AI Initiatives
- Lead data and analytics strategies, deploying AI/ML models for predictive insights (e.g., event attendance, youth trends).
- Implement data governance frameworks, ETL pipelines and data warehouse, and business intelligence dashboards to support decision-making.
- Spearhead generative AI (Gen AI) pilots, such as content generation, chatbots for youth engagement, or automating internal workflows.
IT Policies & Administration
- Lead the implementation, discussion and review of all IT-related policies and standard operating procedures to prepare for the annual IT audit and IT continuity for the organisation.
Budgeting & Governance
- Manage the IT budget, procurement cycles, vendor partnerships, and hardware/software inventory.
- Monitor KPIs for digital initiatives, including time-to-market for solutions, user adoption rates, and system uptime.
- Work with Management to source, pursue and secure suitable funding to support approved implementations.
Team Management & Internal Collaboration
- Coach and guide the team on developing interdisciplinary skills sets, cultivating a culture that embodies *SCAPE’s brand values.
- Foster collaboration through sharing of best practices, success stories, and other valuable information among internal teams and stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of *SCAPE's overall strategic plan and vision.
WHO YOU ARE:
- At least 9 years of relevant working experience, preferably with at least 6 years of experience in managing teams.
- Experience identifying, developing and implementing solutions for large-scale technical projects – including liaising with engineers and software developers.
- Experience in third-party vendor management.
- Experience with ICT hardware, mobile phones and web-based technologies, particularly designing or deploying tools appropriate to low-band-width environments.
- Experience in other technical areas, i.e. network administration, support services management, messaging, database administration and data visualization.
- Professional certification in ICT project management, programming, software engineering, business analytics, telecommunications and/or information security is an advantage
- Knowledge on human-centred design thinking approaches, information systems, requirements analysis and software development is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills to establish connections with different internal and external stakeholders, and to possess the ability to persuade, motivate and influence these stakeholders to better meet the strategic goals of *SCAPE and MCCY.
