YOUR ROLE:

Reporting to the Assistant Director, Engagement, you will play a key role to create a permanent exhibition on youths in Singapore, and to create and foster relationships, in order to nurture and grow a vibrant and engagement network of partners for *SCAPE and Somerset Belt. 

YOU WILL BE WORKING ON:

Permanent Exhibition on Youths 

  • Curate and conceptualise themes and narrative for the onsite exhibition relating to Singapore’s youth in consultation with the *SCAPE Board, management and relevant stakeholders, such as local artists, research institutions, think-tanks, schools and other partners. 
  • Conduct research and curate content such as oral history and video documentation on different aspects of the youth community in Singapore in the areas of arts, culture and heritage. 
  • Project manage exhibition related tasks such as sourcing and compiling materials for the exhibition, handle administrative tasks including compiling artefact list, procuring goods or services, logistical arrangement, and production of exhibition catalogue, etc  
  • Plan and work with internal stakeholders to set up the exhibition, including ticketing, maintenance, crowd control, etc, and prepare materials for stakeholders such as programming, collaterals and online content.  
  • Conduct guided tours for the exhibition and/or train *SCAPE volunteers for the same purpose.  

Stakeholder Engagement (Commercial Partnerships) 

  • Codevelop and implement the stakeholder engagement strategies aligned with *SCAPE’s goals and objectives. Plan and organise regular platforms to facilitate dialogue and collaboration, in order to foster strong relationships amongst key stakeholders. Identify and pursue funding sources and resources to support *SCAPE’s initiatives. 
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and integration of stakeholder management activities.  
  • Develop and maintain metrics and reporting mechanisms to assess the effectiveness and impact of stakeholder engagement efforts in order to provide regular updates to management and Board. 
  • Coordinate and manage event-related matters with partners to ensure that all activations in *SCAPE are aligned with *SCAPE’s mission to be a vibrant space for youths. 

WHO YOU ARE:

  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in curatorial work in a reputable local museum or gallery.  
  • Proven experience in stakeholder and community management, or related field.
  • Good understanding of stakeholder management principles and community engagement/building strategies.  
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to connect, build rapport and negotiate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders and navigate complex stakeholder landscapes.  
  • Good project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.  
  • Problem-solving abilities, with a track record of developing innovative approaches to stakeholder and community engagement.  
  • Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms for stakeholder engagement, communication and collaboration. 
  • Good interpersonal skills to establish connections with different internal and external stakeholders, and to possess the ability to persuade, motivate and influence these stakeholders to better meet the strategic goals of *SCAPE and MCCY.
