The mission:

We are looking for a brilliant and analytical Risk Management Intern to join our 2nd Level Controls function. Working directly alongside our Head of Risk, you will have the unique opportunity to dive deep into the risk management mechanisms of a high-growth tech company.
We like to think that we're pretty good at offering a job where you can thrive and that fits nicely into a fulfilled life.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting the Head of Risk, your main duties will include:

  • Extracting, manipulating, and processing large datasets of transactional and financial data to monitor key risk indicators (KRIs);
  • Supporting the monitoring of credit metrics (e.g., default rates, portfolio performance analysis by specific clusters and segments);
  • Assisting in the comprehensive monitoring and assessment of operational risks across the company's workflows and systems, and supporting the management, maintenance, and reporting related to the RAF (Risk Appetite Framework);
  • 2nd Level Controls: Participating in verification activities to ensure internal procedures comply with risk management policies and procedures;
  • Dashboarding & Automation: Contributing to the creation and maintenance of management reports and interactive dashboards for senior stakeholders, while driving initiatives to automate reporting processes and reduce manual data handling.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or completing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Management Engineering, or equivalent quantitative fields;
  • A strong passion for data analysis and proficiency in spreadsheet modeling. Knowledge of SQL, Python, or data visualization tools (even from university projects/courses) is considered a strong plus;
  • Sharp analytical skills, extreme attention to detail when working with numbers, and a proactive attitude;
  • Fluency in English and Italian, as Scalapay operates in a fully international environment.

Hiring process

  1. A quick chat with one of our Talent Acquisition team members;
  2. A first interview with the Hiring Manager;
  3. A final chat with Simone (our CEO)
