Junior Accountant - Early Career (Fintech & Payments)

We’re looking for a junior Accountant who wants to grow their career in fintech and payments to join our regulated Payment Institute, supervised by the Bank of Italy.

This role is ideal for someone in the early stage of their accounting career who is eager to learn how accounting works in a regulated, fast-growing fintech environment, working closely with experienced finance leaders.

What you’ll do

• Support day-to-day accounting activities (journal entries, invoices, expenses)
• Assist with monthly closing activities and reconciliations
• Work with senior team members on cash flow monitoring and reporting
• Contribute to statutory reporting and regulatory requirements, with guidance
• Collaborate with other teams to understand how accounting connects to operations and payments
• Gradually take ownership of processes as you grow in the role

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar
• 0–2 years of experience, or strong academic background with initial exposure to accounting or finance (including internships or graduate programs)
• Basic knowledge of Italian accounting principles
• Interest in learning how accounting works in regulated and fintech environments
• Comfortable working with Excel; exposure to ERP systems is a plus
• Curious, proactive mindset and willingness to learn
• English working proficiency; Italian required
• (Big Four or financial services background is a plus, but not strictly required)
