The mission

Johnny, our CTO, is looking for a Senior DevOps Manager to join his team as Scalapay grows. 

Your mission will be focused on leading the design and development of innovative infrastructure solutions that are simplistic yet scalable to meet the needs of our engineering teams.

About the role:
Scalapay is seeking a Senior DevOps Manager to lead our DevOps team in managing and optimizing infrastructure and deployment pipelines. You’ll play a key role in delivering scalable, secure, and robust systems that support our growing business. This leadership position combines strategic thinking with hands-on expertise in DevOps practices, cloud infrastructure, and team management.

Key responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the DevOps team, fostering innovation and collaboration.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Align DevOps strategies with business goals by working closely with stakeholders and teams.
• CI/CD Management: Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for efficient and reliable software delivery.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Oversee automated infrastructure provisioning using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Automation: Identify and implement process automation opportunities across development and operations.
• Monitoring & Logging: Implement monitoring solutions to ensure system health and reliability.
• Security: Enforce DevSecOps practices and ensure compliance with security standards.
• Scalability & Optimization: Plan for capacity growth while optimizing infrastructure for performance and cost.
• Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation for processes, tools, and configurations.

You’ll be great for this role if you have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in infrastructure and security operations.
• Proven success managing and growing high-performance DevOps teams.
• Expertise in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, along with CI/CD and IaC tools.
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and monitoring tools like Prometheus or Grafana.
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps practices and cloud-native security.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

1. Initial Chat: A brief conversation with our Talent Acquisition team to get to know you and understand your fit for the role.
2. Hiring Manager Interview: First interview with the CTO and the Director of Engineering to deep dive into your experiences, better understand your motivation and explore your skills.
3. Case Study: A skills-based exercise followed by a debriefing session with key stakeholders, conducted in our Milan office.
4. Final Chat with Simone (CEO): A chance to discuss Scalapay’s values, company vision, and ensure strong cultural alignment. During this stage, we will also conduct reference checks to validate your experience and achievements.
