Broadcast Video Engineer
Position Overview
We're seeking an experienced and technically versatile Broadcast Video Engineer to oversee the daily operation, technical integrity, and personnel coordination of our broadcast floor at the Sofia studio.
You will be responsible for guiding a team of multiskilled operators, coordinating live production execution, maintaining NDI-based video workflows, and supporting mission-critical infrastructure across vMix, Dante, TAG, and streaming platforms.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Configure and adjust video cameras for optimal picture quality, framing, and composition - Set up and adjust studio lighting equipment to properly light production sets and green screen studio pods
- Install, connect, calibrate and monitor audio equipment such as microphones, mixing consoles, amplifiers, and speakers
- Connect equipment using a variety of video and IP cables and ensure signals are transmitting properly
- Troubleshoot issues with cameras, lighting, audio, networking or other broadcast systems
- Stay up to date on emerging technologies such as NDI and incorporate experience into workflows.
- Perform daily systems checks, signal path verification, sync lock testing, and redundancy validation.
- Set up, operate and maintain video equipment including cameras, vMix and control room systems across 60+ gaming pods.
- Troubleshoot and resolve video-related issues promptly to minimize disruptions to live streams.
- Maintain and document broadcast SOPs, technical configurations, and handover logs.
- Ensure timely escalations to Technical Management when thresholds are breached
- Oversee execution of table onboarding, test streams, and platform publishing
- Provide training to junior operators
Minimum Requirements
- 3–5+ years in a live production or broadcast studio environment
- Proven expertise with vMix (multi-input switching, scripting, multiview configuration)
- Advanced knowledge of NDI signal flow and IP video routing
- Familiarity with Dante audio networks and TAG monitoring systems.
- Experience managing studio infrastructure across multiple camera inputs (≥15 sources)
- Excellent problem-solving, and shift coordination skills
- Clear technical communication in English (written + verbal)
- Ability to remain calm and decisive under broadcast pressure
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in AV systems, broadcast engineering, or live streaming production
- Prior experience in regulated environments (casino, gaming, betting, etc.)
- Familiarity with RTS intercom systems, Skaarhoj controllers, or VM-based automation
- Working knowledge of FFmpeg, SRT, RTMP, and encoder configuration
- Participation in studio planning, camera layouts, or redundancy protocol design is a strong plus
