Your role in our mission
We are looking for an exceptional Decision Systems Engineer, specialising in R.
Sitting in the Data Science team and reporting to the Senior Decision Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development lifecycle of our Decision Engine across our various products and platforms to ensure that strategy changes are deployed in a timely manner and with a high quality of output.
You’ll be working closely with the Engineering and Credit Risk teams and heavily involved in managing our data and model pipelines as well as designing and enforcing automated testing frameworks.
This role is open to candidates at the Junior or Mid-level, with the final level determined by the candidate's experience and interview performance.
What you’ll do
- Develop, test and deploy strategy and pricing changes in our decisioning systems across different products and channels
- Build and maintain data and automation pipelines to facilitate reporting, analysis and model building
- Work towards code improvements and optimisation, automated testing and the establishment of CI/CD frameworks
- Collaborate closely with Credit Risk and Product teams to understand strategy changes and turn them into code
- Collaborate closely with Engineering and SRE teams to improve and modernise infrastructure, establish best coding/testing practices and improve documentation and governance across the business
About you
Essential:
- 1-2 years of experience in an engineering or data role
- Exceptional knowledge of R - this is what our Decision Engine is written in
- Excellent knowledge of SQL - this is how you can access and manipulate our data
- Good understanding of engineering best practices (e.g. version control, unit testing, etc.)
- Basic understanding of bash and deployment automation tools like Docker
- Can-do attitude and desire to work in a fast paced start-up like environment and make a difference
Nice to have:
- Experience in financial services and credit decisioning, including building/maintaining decision engine
- Good knowledge of python
- Good understanding of ML Ops and model pipelines
