Engineering Manager (Real-Time Systems)

Warsaw, Masovian Voivodeship, Poland

Location: Poland

We Are:

RTB House is a global company that provides state-of-the-art marketing technologies for top brands and agencies worldwide. Its proprietary ad-buying engine is the first in the world to be powered entirely by Deep Learning algorithms, enabling advertisers to generate outstanding results and reach their goals at every stage of the funnel.

About the Role:

We are looking for an Engineering Manager experienced in real-time systems to build, grow, and lead a newly created team. You will manage a highly skilled group of engineers, focusing on technical excellence, system performance and scalability, and cross-team collaboration. This role blends people management with deep, hands-on technical ownership, giving you the opportunity to shape one of the most critical components of our infrastructure.

About the Team:

We’re forming a new ML Inference team to take ownership of our high-performance production system that serves machine learning models in real-time. This system is critical to ensuring models run reliably and efficiently at scale - supporting hundreds of millions of users and powering billions of ad impressions each month. The team will be responsible for model configuration, performance monitoring, and debugging, while also driving the ongoing evolution and optimization of our inference infrastructure. Note that experience with Machine Learning is not a requirement for this role.

Our Expectations:

  • Proven leadership experience, with at least 5 years of managing and mentoring an engineering team.
  • Strong expertise in designing and implementing complex IT systems, particularly in distributed systems and high-performance real-time environments.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C++, Scala), and strong familiarity with Linux-based environments.
  • Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and system-level performance optimization.
  • Experience in debugging and troubleshooting production systems, especially in low-latency, resource-constrained scenarios.
  • Creativity and initiative in improving existing solutions and infrastructure.
  • Effective collaboration skills, with the ability to drive cross-team initiatives and align multiple stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in the field of Machine Learning is not required but will be considered an advantage.

In Return, We Offer:

  • A highly competitive salary.
  • The opportunity to lead a team of enthusiasts experienced in Machine Learning, Big Data, and distributed systems, who are eager to share their knowledge and skills.
  • Flexible working hours, with the possibility of remote work or working from our office in Warsaw.
  • Access to the latest technologies, with the opportunity to apply them in a large-scale and fast-paced project.
  • An opportunity to apply your expertise in optimizing algorithms that support hundreds of millions of internet users and billions of ad views per month within the RTB model.
  • The ability to see the immediate impact of your work on the company's business outcomes.
  • The possibility of publishing your results.

Daily Responsibilities:

Leading, mentoring, and growing a team of engineers focused on deploying, evaluating, and configuring ML models in production environments.
